Five Classic Sega Franchises In Need Of A Reboot

HeyPoorPlayer's Frank DiPersio writes: As a longtime Sega fan, it’s depressing seeing how many of the developer's former flagship series have fallen to the wayside. Few studios have the wealth of memorable properties that the former hardware giant has accumulated over the years. While the company has made some smart moves over the past several years as a publisher, not the least of which being the acquisition of Atlus, we’d still like to see Sega take the initiative and revive some of these long forgotten franchises.

Shining Force needs it more than any other franchise. Unfortunately, when we tried to tell the current series lead about it, he took it as an insult, and began to act like a child.

There's no hope for this series.

It's a shame. To this day no SRPG has matched the level of charm and accessibility the Shining Force games have. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed to see another SF epic until the day I die.

I'd be happy seeing all of them made well in this day and age. In particular Streets of Rage and Panzer Dragoon.

I have just realised how much I miss Panzer Dragoon. What a game that was.

Shenmue, Knights, Toe Jam and Earl, Wonder Boy, Shenobi, Zombies ate my Neighbors. There are a lot of Sega franchises that need to see the light of day.

Oh, I forgot about AlienStorm. I loved that title so much.
