One writer explores his experiences with L.A. Noire, describing player expectations as a deciding factor of the game's reception.
This has really become kind of an underrated game. Didn't come up in as many "Best of a generation" lists as I expected.
I wanted to really like LA Noire, I liked most of it, It suffered from Assassins Creed Syndrome, the mission layout was exactly the same throughout the entire game, each mission had 4 stages to it if I remember, then you move to the next department and repeat I never finished it unfortunately, it did alot of things right, facial animation, voice acting etc, but overall I couldn't be bothered with it
I like the game but really writing was an issue lot of plotholes and stuff... I'm sad it didn't do better because it was o.k for a first try and I"m sure it could've eventually been great if the formula had continued to be refined
I want to shoot my gun!!
