SO3 and ff7 i didnt beat, the others i have not played. Persona 3-4 tho <3. id have to keep it real and say Poke'mon Blue by default, too. currently playing through Chrono Cross and i have a feeling that its going to be one of my favs.

Chrono3734d ago

Chrono Cross is epic.

FamilyGuy3734d ago (Edited 3734d ago )

I like action based rpgs:

Tales of Destiny, Star Ocean 2, Star Ocean 3, Legend of Legia, White Knight Chronicles 2

Also loved FF8, 9 and 10, Legend of Dragoon, Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger.

I'm playing through Demons Souls right now but I don't like some of the locations: That prison, the lava pit area and that one putrid place just aren't fun to me. Been skipping them.

Bad list

IMOO :

Chrono Trigger
FF6
Baldur's Gate 2
Suikoden 2
Xenogears

Irishguy953734d ago (Edited 3734d ago )

Hardly a bad list NewMonday.

I love all the games on your list too. Top 5 isn't enough for me. Anyhow, Dark and demons were two of my fav last gen games. ME2 needs a mention too, and the witcher 2. Fallout New Vegas was great to me.

FF7 too.

The games you mention are definitely in the top 10 of the old style of RPG's. Being turned based/Atm or isometric like BG2.

Either way, I don't neglect new RPGs because i'm bitter about the way they changed from old ones.

Neverwinter nights also deserves a mention too.

Edit - I don't take anyones opinion seriously when they cite Xenogears. The reason is, the game totally ****ed up for the second disk. And not acknowledging that major **** up just shows how one perceives 'quality'. I mean the amount of people that destroyed Mass effect 3's name due to the poor ending and then just let Xenogears away with something that was hours long and simply not a game at all?

DQ3 hd remake now!

I've heard the story and music are really good.

I've actually heard some of the music and it sound a bit different than most DQ games.

Not a fan of WRPG's? Fallout, Morrowind, Skyrim, Witcher, ...

theshredded3734d ago (Edited 3734d ago )

Typical games,Western games just don't hold a candle to JRPGs they don't give that neverending replayability, lasting impression that never fades nor are they hardcore.Try selling ur games & JRPGs would be ur last pick unless ur casual

dcj05243733d ago

The hell man? I love JRPGS and WRPGS. Deus Ex, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, The witcher,Dragon's Dogma ( i think its western) are all incredible games and most of them have near ENDLESS REPLAYABILLITY and the gameplay varies quite a bit with it being real-time ( no arena either). I love JRPGS but most of them you run into an enemy, you go into a arena and there isn't as much ways to mix up the combat. There is more great JRPGS than WRPGS but don't go disrespecting such a fantastic genre.

Hicken3733d ago

What? Somebody doesn't like WRPGs? Blasphemy! /s

The only western RPG I like is the first Dragon Age. Well, and Champions of Norrath.

Not gonna bother trying to make a list. My top 5 would wind up being about 16 games.

gamer_3734d ago (Edited 3734d ago )

What a guy :)

BlakHavoc3734d ago

No legend of dragoon? Lol he was behind that game too! I haven't played a ton of RPG's but i've had my share and TLOG was one of the best i've ever played!

Kevlar0093734d ago

My 5 favorites are Final Fantasy 6, Golden Sun:Lost Age, Super Mario RPG, Xenoblade, and Pokemon Silver. I haven't played a lot of RPG's in recent years, but these stick out to me the most (in memorability and design)

PoSTedUP3733d ago

poke silver was epic, thats the last one i played.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
