If only there were things to do other than building stuff, Like story NPCs etc. That tales of kingdom mod. was great.

This is barely news. Do we really need an update every million more copies that Minecraft sells?

I would never expect in todays world a game with no story mode or nice graphics to sell this much. I"m not into the game but I'm glad more people bought it than pirate it.

Well The Sims 1 and 2 have sold more and WoW has sold 14M so considering Minecraft is not to old yeah it could be called a record. I would not think of that as a joke, when a small indie title released exclusivly on consoles and sells that many copies you let me know.

This game had zero advertisement and has sold 14M copies on PC alone meanwhile MS spends millions of dollars on advertising and yet not one of them has sold as well as Minecraft (even the 360 version has outsold almost all 360 exlusives titles except Halo 3 and Kinect Adventures). That is all because of the massive popularity it has on Youtube and the rest of the internet alone. The fact this game has sold probably almost 30M units across all platforms it is on and has probably zero ads (other than probably XBLA and PSN banners) is insane.
