Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS will be released by year's end, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed.
Great news! I can't wait to play the new Super Smash!
On December 31st :D
More like terrible news as it was supposed to come out in March. Wii U is screwed now and we aren't getting any of the games as promised until way late. May as well box mine up until summer ffs.
When did they ever say it was coming out in Spring? In fact, they said a long time it ago it WASN'T coming out in Spring 2014, but it was coming in 2014.
Does this partially confirm larger roster ?
I would hope so
Haven't they already confirmed that ؟ @wonder I see :)
What we had before now was a statement from Sakurai. More like a new year's resolution, actually. Hearing it from Miyamoto, though, means that they've likely made significant progress. I just hope Sakurai's arm pains aren't getting worse. I feel sorry for the poor guy, but I admire his fierce determination and passion for the project. Doing all of the character balancing on his own can't be an easy job...
It's Jan so basically a years more wait. I'm not happy
Fantastic news, I was it worried would be delayed into 2015, hopefully it doesn't, I've been dying for a new Smash Bros for years now. Don't let me down Nintendo.
Certainly a great news for Nintendo fans!
Getting the 3ds version. Hope nintendo release a fight stick accessory, didn't like using the dpad for street fighter
Was hoping they would have released it during the summer when the gaming drought is present. Long wait for Wii U fans. Hopefully nintendo will be smart and release a beta
How the hell is that smart?
Uh it not even confirmed to release at the end of the year
I still don't understand why they're releasing it on 3DS. They're struggling with the Wii U, so instead of making it a game exclusive to the Wii U to help push console sales, they release it on their handheld aswell meaning a lot of people may just go for the 3DS version and completely neglect the Wii U version. Sure it would have been a lot riskier to release it on the Wii U alone with the console selling poorly, but shouldn't it have been a risk worth taking?
Nintendo saw how good the 3DS was doing and didn't want to limit the potential sales of the new smash game. Now they see the boat they're in with the Wii U so they need as much as they can get. Sure the Wii U console lost a good amount of sales cause of their move but what can you do? Only the casual players will be playing smash on 3DS anyways. The competitive crowd will be all over Wii U.
Its a mighty assumption that the competitive crowd will be all over the new game. But lets hope it's that good
I'm a competitive player but I'm getting it on a 3DS. My console of choice doesn't make a difference in how well I can play a game. Just get a second analog stick and I will be good.
The 3ds version won't be true smash anyway. I doubt it will sell more. People buy smash for the living room experience and the multiplayer both of which won't really be there on the 3ds version (it'll focus on SP apparently). I also have a feeling that maybe the 3ds version won't have online. Either way it will be the inferior version.
What makes you think that the 3ds version won't have online? I dont see any reason it wouldn't.
I agree. Sakurai is drunk. The 3DS version will just kill more the Wii U sales.
time to buy a wii u i suppose.
If you live in America, you can get a refurbished Deluxe bundle for $225 from NOA's website. It's a great deal.
I just bought one yesterday. Neweggs Ebay page had the wind waker console bundle + wonderful 101 + ninja gaiden 3 + gamepad accessory kit for $270, free shipping.
The translation was not easy to follow - but it sounded like he may have added an " I hope" by the end of the year - Someone else take a look and see how you read it
A very interesting news.
Nope. I just wait til official confirmation instead of NeoGaf users spread crap.
I thought earlier.....its a game we are waiting all wii u owners and not only.
Nintendo will have to go all out this year they have no choice they are out of options.
