Square Enix Responds To Final Fantasy XV And Kingdom Hearts III Rumor

You may have heard about a document from Square Enix Europe that pegs Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III for release in 2014. In a statement sent to Siliconera, Square Enix says the release schedule is inaccurate. (Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, PS4, Square Enix, Xbox One)

7 years is not enough....
tigertron  +   226d ago
I'm betting on 2015 too. That makes it nine whole years since the first trailer. -_-
nope111  +   226d ago
Yep. I'm thinking Q4 of 2015.
torchic  +   226d ago
Q4 2015??? wow that would be nearly a decade after the first trailer -.-
Luke_fon_Fabre  +   223d ago
I hope I get Star Wars Episode VII and Final Fantasy XV in the same month because that would be loads of amazing.
adventureghost124  +   226d ago
Yeah knowing square it won't release till q4 2016
Kurisu  +   226d ago

What happened to us seeing more of these games? Will we finally get to after FFXIII-3 gets releases? Are they still doing that?

In any case I want both these games desperately, I bought a Ps4 mostly just to play them.

Nomura said KHIII wouldn't start development until FFvsXIII (remember when it was still called that? Not even a year has past yet) hit 50%. Well, since KHIII is on development now, I'd say FFXV is now at least 75% done. I'd expect an E3 reveal, or at the very least TGS. Just a trailer at E3, and gameplay footage running on PS4 hardware at TGS. Someone note this prediction down, lest I rage at Squeenix for another year without hands-on playable Noctis. So most likely 2nd or 3rd quarter 2015 release for FFXV. March-September, I can see it now.

KHIII most likely still at 10%. Either 2016 or 2017. I don't expect another trailer at E3, but I'd be surprised if there is.

Edit: If somehow FFXV got a December 2014 JPN release date yet, somebody slap my face. I'd take that slap like a man, have a smile, and my money out.

I'd be surprised if KH3 didn't get a trailer at E3.
As we all know, Disney also owns the Kingdom Hearts IP, not just SE. So they make calls on stuff like marketing and even story.
If SE was the only company that held the rights to KH, you can bet that we wouldn't have gotten that D23 expo trailer.

But yeah, I think FFXV is gonna release in 2015. We should get a release window or even a date at E3 or TGS.

Square Enix usually release Final Fantasy games in holidays like XIII-2-3 so i bet that if they go the same route it would be holidays 2015 for japan and maybe spring 2016 for the rest of the world. Thats just my thoughts
Nate-Dog  +   226d ago
I would have to genuinely laugh in anyone's face that thought either of these games will be released anywhere near 2014.
SULTAN_4  +   226d ago
because the FFXV is the 15th FF ,, maybe they won't release it until it spent 15 years in the development so that it became something really special 😁

FF15 2015 , Kingdom hearts 3 2016.

This is what i expect.

Well I won't be holding my breath. As I recall, the game orginally (ff 13 verse) was announced before the ps3 release and missed a launch window of an entire console generation. Almost reminds me of the duke nukem forever fiasco.

final fantasy forever. Thought dnf was gonna be great , gearbox had it and it was stewing for so long...Weaksauce that was hopefully they dont drop the ball on this one

Capcom said it takes 10 times the effort compared to PS3/X360 for PS4/XBOne games.

With this we can conclude that since FFXV was in developer on PS3 for 7 years, that it will come out in the year to 2084!

Where is that document?
Edit: Never mind, found it.

everytime i see noctis' face on an article here,or the title final fantasy xv,i quickly open it, this game needs to come out,it has been so long, have been teased for so long, this may not come this year, but im giving it 2015 at max, anyway, they dont have a big release for 2015 yet, this might be it
ForNgoods  +   226d ago
I'm sure their "big release" will be something ridiculous like ffXIII-4

I don't care how long it takes all I know is kingdom hearts wont disappoint and considering how long 15 has been in development and from what we've seen its going to be so intense and Is definitely a reason to buy this gens consoles
Meltic  +   226d ago
lol 2015 release. Why is it taking so long with just FF game.
MasterofMagnetism  +   226d ago
They just released a trailer last year for FFXV so it will be another five years before we get any new info.
alti  +   226d ago
the release of FF15 will mark the end of an era to me. If it is bullocks, I'll never be excited for another game again.
LinkOnABoat  +   226d ago
I was 6 when they announced FFVs13. Holy shit. O..o
rebeljoe14  +   226d ago
plenty of developement time on FFXV so it should come out this year, all they are doing is bug fixing and polishing on the graphics. KH3 on the other hand is going to release in 2015
