GearNuke: "PS Now Beta Invites just started rolling out and it appears we have already got our hands on the currently available games for the beta participants."
ok that's the randomest list of games I ever saw. But I guess they work for testing :D
They most likely choose games from different genres for testing purpose. Disgaea is there but sadly no JRPG in sight.
Daaaayum!!! It's a shame i own everyone of those games & have played them to death >_< NOT complaining though! Happy to be chosen as a beta tester :D
@xXblondie Hey buddy..... Can I have your PSN name, email address and password being as we're such good friends? I can?!?!? thanks so much!
First Party: Killzone 3 Puppeteer Shadow of the Colossus Third Party: Papo & Yo Darksiders II MX vs. ATV: Alive Disgaea 4 Ninja Gaiden 3 Shatter Dammit, I was hoping I'd get to try out some games that I don't own and am interested in already. I but Shatter he day it came out all those years ago, I just bought Puppeteer (lol), I got Shadow of the Colossus through PS+ Ninja Gaidan 3, Killzone 3 and Darksiders 2 are all good but damn.
Very much a mixed bag of games, 'Shadow of the Colossus' is always a threat.
I agree. It does sound like each game was selected to test a different facet. If Ninja Gaiden 3 maintains a consistent fps, I'm there day one.
@DarkLord I agree. Plus they want to show that the library has diversity. Not just Sony's games. Mission complete.
For testing purposes and the variety will get more people hopeful that PS Now will offer not just of a few genres, meaning that there will be subscriptions from all kinds of people looking forward to games they want to play. I signed up for the beta and I can't wait to try it out. It reminds me of PS Plus with the games it offers but much more and instant.
Does the author realise that they aren't going to put up the entire Playstation Now library for beta testing? Written like they don't.
They don't know what the word "Beta" means ^^. Like when you play a multiplayer games beta and you only get one map and a certain number of weapons.
Dat shadow of the colossus
Yeah, in terms of testing you have a good amount of diversity.
I might get hate for saying this but I think a cod game would a great way to test lag(even though all their games of recent have sucked). COD is all about fast paced action and we would able to see how bad the input lag is if it even exists.
Meh thats y killzone is there
Lag will be crappy regardless. A very fast and top of the line connection has 33ms round trip. What do you think will happen to the vanilla connection? People complained about the Xbox One HDMI inpug lag, imagine what the unpredictable internet will do!
It's like a "one of each" type of list.
No last of us . Kinda bombed my excitement
Why lol? If these games work well then TLOU should work well with PlayStation Now...Unless of course you were waiting for PlayStation Now to play TLOU, in which case I suggest you get a PS3.
This is a BETA. There will be TLOU in PS now. I'm pretty sure of it. And I don't think sony would add TLOU in this beta because that's basically giving away free copies of TLOU as beta testers are not paying for it
off topic, but I wish they'd do a remastered TLOU rather than an emulated port.
@LKHGFDSA Umm, It's not emulated but streamed via a PS3 located in a server building.
The Last of Us and God of War: Ascension aren't there because this is a beta. I believe those 2 games have already been tested and proven to work, that's why they showed them in the presentation. These games are to test the other genres for future games. You have a first person shooter, RPGs, racing, very quick hack and slash, etc. I'm sure once it officially launches, we'll see all of the games tested and shown plus much more. I know PS2 and PS1 will work perfectly with PS Now.
Only for ps3 users? How about us launch day ps4 users? Would really like to play puppeteer on my ps4
This is just a closed beta. PlayStation Now will first launch on PS4 and PS3 in North America this Summer. Later, the PS Vita, certain mobile devices, and Bravia TVs will be included.
Yea but it would be wise to test ps now on ps4 also. You know with ps3 and ps4 architecture been so different they might run into problems without testing with a lot of people
@princejb134 streaming game content is not very hardware intensive, they should have absolutely no problem having it run on PS4. On the PS3 getting good performance might be a bit more tricky, hence the beta.
@princejb134 Of course it is going to be tested on the PS4 and every other device. They're doing that internally at SCE for now.
Surprising list. Its kind of weird that all 3 first party games have 3D support. I wonder how that will stream?
I just want this to happen ASAP! I can't let go of my PS3 but I have no room for old consoles.
If I where you I would stack my ps3 on top of my ps4 on top of my ps2 :p
Thats the way I did it. PS3 on top of PS4 on top of PS2.
That is a terrible idea unless you have a buffer zone in between them.
Yeah, that's a pretty random list. I would like to try KZ3, haven't ever played that, and puppeteer.
Both are Excellent! I actually re-played several levels of the Puppeteer after finishing them just to enjoy the experience, it's that good really!
KZ3 is awesome, you'll love it
I have Disgaea 4 (day 1 purchase) and have to recommend that to anyone who likes Final Fantasy Tactics.
Is the story as deep as FF Tactics? To date I haven't played a game in the same genre that can match the story of FFT except maybe it's progenitor, Tactics Ogre.
I've only played two games out of that list. KZ3 and SOTC. Looks like we're in a for a treat.
Not like i got picked to be apart of the beta anyway :/
I don't care what games they offer the beta people. I want to know pricing, hoping 20$ a month unlimited access, like netflix
unless theres many games that I dont own on psnow than I wont subscribe. I own everyone on this list.
These titles seem like a good place to start, diverse and good games.
Shadow of the Colossus, one of my favorite game of all time.
Hey im ok with that list for beta. Also envious of those who got beta invites....
I'm excited for Disgaea 4! It will be fun on the Vita!
I'd be on Ninja Gaiden 3. I would think that that game would probably be the truest test of streaming.
well since I own my ps3 still and some of those games....I'll wait for now, later.. see what I did there ;)
I'm surprised TLOU and Beyond aren't on the list considering they were demoed at CES.
They're new, recent games. Why give testers a new, good game when they can test fine with old ones that they're not going to buy anyway. Plus putting new games on it means higher chance that the tester hasnt played it before, and he'll be focused on the new game rather than comparing the streaming performance to what he's used to.
It's a good list of random games to checkout how different games may be affected by input lag. It is to bad they had to sign a non disclosure agreement because I am very interested in how all these betas are doing.
If they are testing with PS3 users now Are they going to roll out to PS4 users later?
I guess its a start.
I don't care about the list at all. The fact that I will be able to play PS3 and older games on my PS4 is a huge bonus. I get to try out games I missed out in the previous gens. I just wish they included Canada in the beta too.
Meh kinda disappointed in the list to be honest, although I'll play shadow of the colossus again to test ps now out. I'm still incredibly skeptical that these will run well 100% of the time to make cloud stream gaming viable! but let's hope so.
you people do relies this is testing there using games for a purpose and when it launches they will have more games.way more games thats why its bad bata info gets leaked,
Disgaea 4, awwwww yeah.
Didn't know they were only doing the beta on PS3. They shattered my dream of being a beta tester.
WHERE IS THE PS4 TAB ON N4G? Both say PS3!
Hmmmm, I'm sure they'll be adding many more games to the Beta.
Not a great big name list
