With all the PS4 & Xbox One malfunctions, one would think it prudent of manufacturers to offer proper warranties...
I haven't had any issues with my PS4 or Xbox One.
I know the XB1 has been great for me, no issues. I would definitely take an extended warranty though. I think the XB1 was well made, MSFT might have learned their lesson from the 360 debacle. EDIT: @Septic I definitely agree that is why I would welcome and extended warranty, but just listening to the Xb1 and placing my hand over the vents, I have faith it will last. It's super quiet and well ventilated. They say it was designed to last 10 years powered on so we will see.
Well you say that but the thing is, problems may not immediately apparent with these consoles. A warranty is a good idea considering how expensive the X1 is (as well as the Kinect bundled with it).
Consumers would start to abuse those extended warranties.
I think if you buy any brand new electronic you should be given a free year warranty if you buy it within the first month of its release
When you buy the Xbox One or PS4 you do get a one year manufacturers warrantee. Here is the link for the Xbox, to lazy to look up the PS4 but if you google it you will find it. http://support.xbox.com/en-... While I certainly won't argue with even greater warrantee I am very pleased so far with the Xbox One in its temperature profile and ventilation. Mine is turned on anywhere from 8 to 16 hours per day7 and it is very cool and very quiet. Much better design than the 360 was.
I meant from the store you get it from because I am not a fan of sending stuff in especially electronics and than waiting a month for it to come back. I have gotten many things that were damaged by UPS during the shipping progress. i would rather bring it to the store i bought it, and have a new one in my hand without shipping
Good luck with that. I agree with you completely but you will never see it. Unlike major appliances, i.e. Fridges, Stoves, etc. that you often buy from a store that is licensed to repair/warrantee those goods console can only be repaired at the factory. The only way that would happen would be for Sony or MS to authorize the retailers to repair the consoles.
Pretty sure you get a year free.
