Nintendo’s Ambiguous Plans for the Future Only Have Me More Concerned

GR: From mobile initiatives to a brand-new "blue ocean" strategy that involves the launch of some sort of etherial "Quality of Life" platform, Nintendo's investor meeting yesterday brought plenty of surprises. While the undoubted goal was to paint a clearer picture of where the company is headed in 2014 and beyond, I'm sad to say I've come away more puzzled and concerned than I was going into it.

Let's break down each of the major announcements in an attempt to figure out exactly what Nintendo is planning for the future. (3DS, Nintendo, Wii U)

Please retire, Mr. Iwata. You don't seem too enthused about getting back the hardcore fans. And your lucky streak with the gimmicky casual audience has run dry. Let's hope for someone who will revive the Yamouchi-style legacy of the NES, SNES, and N64 days (while adding features that can compete with the next gen consoles too--I mean, The Wii U doesn't even have an ethernet port >_<).

I have 3 consoles. I only use Ethernet for the PS4. WiiU and PS3 use wireless, and honestly is is very fast with just the wireless. So I don't really care about that.
