Nintendo Looking To Link Future Platforms through NNID and Smart Devices

In Nintendo’s recent corporate briefing they have decided to start basing their platforms on connectivity and are looking to do so through NNID and the use of smart devices. While Nintendo has not elaborated on this it is assumed they are bringing the NNID to smart devices in the form of an app. This is being done to ease connection with other Nintendo devices and to help nintendo connect with users easier.

Nintendo looking to enter the new millennium like other gaming companies did years ago

Neonridr1300d ago

hey at least it's a step forward..

deafdani1299d ago

Why do you even bother replying to Miku, one of the biggest trolls in the entire trolling history of N4G?

Come on, man.

ChickeyCantor1299d ago

You ask them to step up their game, and when they do, it isn't good enough.

Typical.

madjedi1298d ago

Considering this has been a industry standard for the past 8 yrs, why exactly does nintendo deserve any brownie points.

No other company has to be dragged kicking and screaming into the modern era of gaming.

and you why they took long. Because they saved money after GC and GBA.

mohuzas1299d ago

i love playing my PS3 games on my PS4. oh wait.

Miku, you're that one person that no body likes, but keeps showing up to parties you're not invited too. I'll assume you're just as unbearable in your everyday life. Speaking of life, you should probably get one. That and a psychologist because you have done serious hate issues, if you must always pester and troll.

Get help.

I hope they elaborate on this a bit more as im still a bit confused and have a couple questions

NihonjinChick1299d ago (Edited 1299d ago )

I don't get it. What would connecting to your NNID to a smart device do? How would it interact with your Nintendo devices? They need to explain this.

I'm excited for games being linked to accounts instead of hardware though. Iwata said that they will continue to support BC in future hardware, that could potentially mean you never have to leave your digital games behind when you move to the next generation, as you do with other consoles.

Miiverse and eShop.
Nintendo Direct

NihonjinChick1299d ago

Oh, okay. Miiverse on smart devices is actually a really good idea.

RiPPn1299d ago

Hopefully they add achievements trophies coins, whatever they plan to call it.

AWBrawler1299d ago

its pretty well understood that the bulk of the Nintendo Community doesn't care about trophies or achievements, and don't need incentive to 100% a game

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory1298d ago

not needed since Your post can have "achievement" tag on Miiverse with picture to share anyhing you accomplished in game.

MadMen1299d ago

Nintendo what ever will you do.

“We should abandon old assumptions about our businesses. We are considering M&As as an option,” Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in an interview. “For this reason, we'll step up share buybacks."

Iwata

Its all about the share holders as it should be.
