iGR: "According to a verified industry insider on popular, and mostly accurate, gaming forum NeoGAF, Crackdown 3 is in development and is set for a tentative 2016 release."
Can't wait for it just like SWBF3 this will take up a lot of my time. @truefan1 considering I played both games they are nothing alike in terms of gameplay mechanics or story. oh don't edit your comment you bashed infamous and sony saying that infamous stole ideas if not the entire game from crackdown.
Come on man, N4G doesn't have a limit for the number of words/letters you can type into the comment box. So please clarify what in the bloody hell is SWBF3? Star Wars Battle Field 3?
Star Wars Battle Front 3, I believed there is a 30 second trailer on youtube somewhere. It's a Hoth trailer clip. Nothing much thou.
This time it will be 6 years in development and be a "Snow Themed" version of the same city yet again.
Oh yea, this game could be great with all the time spent in development. MSFT is bringing the games for XB1, great years ahead. I do believe Infamous is a ripoff, but I realized that was a trollish comment, so I deleted it. I can't harp on ps4 players if I'm doing the same thing. I only had my comment up for like 1 minute lol.
I thought this and Infamous were totally different games. I loved the open world aspect of Crackdown. You could just do whatever you wanted in whatever order. Of course, going straight for the boss usually got you killed without the proper enhancements first.
so one could say that it's a rip off from mega man then right? :p
I have no idea where you got that idea from. But inFamous did not rip off anything from Crackdown. If anything inFamous ripped off Hulk: Ultimate Destruction! Just kidding! Seriously though, that was a stupid comment.
O_o I feel like this is an account you use just to mess with people. Crackdown is a fun game. I'll even go as far as to call it addicting. It's no inFamous though...especially inFamous 2. They both have a superhero feel to them, but they're nothing alike.
inFAMOUS is 10x better than Crackdown #DealWithIt
infamous plays nothing like crackdown.
Troll harder. If you love Crackdown so much, shut up and enjoy the news.
You hate on PS4 fanboys for the same things that you do, but on a grander scale. Weird. Not only that, but this was a ridiculously stupid comment, no wonder you only have one bubble. inFamous is nothing like Crackdown and plays nothing like it. Crackdown was great. inFamous has proven itself to be consistently better, but if C3 can reach the lofty heights of the original game, sure bring it on. Edit: and hahah at you revoking that hypocritical comment. Only just realising it now?
@truefan I really enjoyed both games but i feel prototype was closer in style to infamous than crackdown and by the way i enjoyed prototype very much. Great game.wish ms would acquire the rights from activision. lt could be huge if properly managed. Ontopic : if this rumor proves true it would mean great things for the franchise and im really glad the original devs(realtime worlds) are working with ruffian on this.
I agree with you I need a new crackdown game after playing CD2 with my friends on 360 for 8hours a day.
"Former leads from developer Ruffian Games are said to be working on the project, along with former employees of Realtime Worlds, the original Crackdown developer." That is very good news! I was worried when I saw Ruffian Games but knowing that former employees of the original game are there also puts me at ease. These guys have a lot to prove after the lackluster part 2.
Um....Ruffian Games was formed around former members of the Realtime Worlds team that made Crackdown.
Really? 2 More years? I did they just start working on it today or something?
No, I think by then (2016) it would have been in development for around 4 years.
Crackdown 3 going to be awesome
Too many games man.
There's no such thing...unless you hate games.
New insider dropping them bombs? I likey. Good to see Crackdown 3 might be in development. The first one was awesome never played the second.
First gears now crackdown. Im guessing forza horizon2 and Phantum dust 2 are done deals too. So what next? Banjoe kazooie? Kameo2? Mech assault? Pgr? Perfect dark? Alan wake 2? So many games.Phil is the best..Ms is definitly going in the right direction and im guessing there will be even more groundbreaking announcements at e3. Cant wait.
Also, if you think this insider has any credibility, he/she's dropped one more major bomb in the forums. ;)
If this rumor has any credibility, then thank god ms is letting them take their time with crackdown 3. I still cannot believe crackdown 2 had only 8 months development time.
Sweet!!! MS is bringing the games. I loved Crackdown, Crackdown 2 was just alright....so I'm actually glad to see that it's not due out till 2016 (if this rumor is true), this means that they are taking the time to do it right. My vote is less weird monsters and crap...just go back to different gang factions and stuff. We have enough games with monsters, that's part of what made me going from thinking Deep Down was gonna be awesome and a must buy to a no buy (that game would be so awesome if it was just knights against knights...or even dragons, but weird random monsters doesn't belong in a game like that IMO).
Crackdown 3!!!!!!! BOOM epic megaton.
Crackdown 3 is no megaton. If it's more like 1 than 2, it'll be a great game. But it's not a big enough name to be considered a megaton.
keep them games coming MS
I'd love to see Crackdown 3 on PC, as modding on that game would be amazing.
Ok......let me know near the time. Ill probably forget by then.
I hope they make it like the first - a new colorful, alive, sprawling tri-city area with lots of rooftops and buildings to explore for orbs. The first game was a classic and they need to keep this one just like that was. Make an all new original campaign/story element along with kick ass multiplayer and this game could really be a great comeback for the series as well as a great game overall. Good luck MS - don't dissapoint.
