Respawn Claims Titanfall Will See Seamless Server Updates On Xbox One

iGR: "Back at GDC Next, I spoke with John Bruno, the lead architect of Xbox Live Compute. During our conversation he mentioned that a game like Titanfall whom relies heavily on the “cloud” may experience downtime when server updates are needed. Today, a studio member at Respawn has promised minimal to zero player interruption during server updates,"

That's cool and all, but some beta info would be great.

Here's some info: It's coming.

anyways, seamless server updates is cool. Seems sort of... common sense, though.

Here is some more info:

"The fact that we can somewhat-easily deploy new builds on Azure is due to the Xbox Live Compute team’s hard work. This is an area that we’ve been working on with them for some time now. We originally told them that no-cert, fast server updates were a requirement for us, and they made that happen."

Microsoft cloud providing real result!

It has to be planned within the next couple of weeks. There's precious little time until release. If they plan to actually make changes based on Beta feedback, they'll need to get it going before the game goes gold.

This is almost expected from xbl, I haven't ever seen xbl shut down for any sort of maintenance or update.

EBTpickle1631d ago

Yeah, XBL is a pretty well oiled machine, but XBLC is different. I had a feeling the Titanfall Alpha was to test out these kinds of functions. Glad to hear it went well.

It's EA I am confident many updates will be needed.

Hopefully, here to promises (party setting)

Why does everyone assume that because EA is publishing titanfall that the game will go out unfinished? Battlefield was a train wreck but come on. Just because battlefield was a travesty doesn't mean that a completely different developer will send out a game that is unfinished. People take one instance of this happening and turn it into the new norm in their minds. I just don't understand

ambientFLIER1631d ago

I agree. EA published plenty of games that went out just fine, with no major complaints. BF4 slips by with issues, and boom, all of a sudden people act like it's the end of the world for every Developer that even utters the word "EA". I think hating on EA is the new cool thing, much like hating on COD and MS.

BF3 was problem filled. Army of two had alot of problems. Almost every madden has problems. SImcity, Fifa( i believe i read alot about)

I also thought i remembered Dragon Age 2 being broken.

Reading a bit it shows Dead Space 3 had a lot of broken elements.
Medal of honor 2
