PS3 and Xbox 360 Have at Least Two More Years in Them according to Electronic Arts

The next generation is now current generation, and with the release of PS4 and Xbox One the xbox 360 and PS3 are finally past generation consoles. Yet Electronic Arts Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore thinks that the two veteran platforms have more to give and at least two years of life left.

PS2 was supported well into the PS3 era, so I'm not surprised, but EA basically mean we'll keep releasing FIFA on them...

stavrami-mk21388d ago

no ,if they meant that they would of said they have 7-8 years left .i think the last ps2 game was fifa 14 last year ..milked that cow till the teet's were shrivelled

MRMagoo1231388d ago (Edited 1388d ago )

What EA meant to say was "we still have at least 2 more years of milking the cash cows on last gen hardware"

Albie3601388d ago (Edited 1388d ago )

Yes. Ea milking. Suck it dry with shit content.
Shit, have post without even reading the comments above, and we all
say the exact same thing.
I wonder why.....

abzdine1388d ago

what a bunch of liars EA, didn't they say that next gen had to come as soon as possible? how come that they claim opposite now?

ravinash1388d ago

because otherwise they will run out of excuses.

It will be quite awhile before there are more people playing on the new consoles than the old, so it only makes sense to support the bigger install base at least to some extent. EA, like most companies, is about making money and the larger group of people is where the money is, until last gen software prices start plummeting.

mcstorm1388d ago

I agree. The new gen consoles will not start to be looked at fully until 18 months or so from now when we start to see price drops so why not support last gen as users on these consoles are still buying games.

Rainstorm811388d ago (Edited 1388d ago )

.....At least 2 years.According to EA.......

Nuff said

Well be seeing EA games on there 5 years from now

I can give to flying Sh*ts about current Gen, I guess this is good knees for those that will take a year or two to upgrade to next gen but I don't want current gen holding next gen back!

hollabox1388d ago (Edited 1388d ago )

That kinda happened with last gen abit. Still had games being built with PS2 32 MBs in mind for PS3 and X360 ports in late 2007/early 2008. This gen will be no different, only a couple of next gen titles out right now did not start on X360 and PS3 first.
