3 key points from the Gears of War purchase

ArabicGamers writes:

Gears of War is now property of Microsoft. That much was confirmed yesterday when it was revealed that franchise creator Epic Games had sold the IP along to pastures new. Very pumped for the next Gears game. Gears of War 2 was easily in my top 5 games of last generation. I played way too many hours of just that mode let alone the awesome campaign. Here's to hoping that Black Tusk's next Gears game is a follow up instead of a prequel. I know that the story was pretty much wrapped up in Gears 3 but prequels never have the same level of suspense or intrigue. Also hoping that it is made using Unreal Engine 4.

Gears 3 was good, but I agree, GoW2 was the best. In much the same way as Halo 2 was the best Halo game. The cover system was the best seen when the game was first released.

Gears 2 had a serious issue with matchmaking. It took several minutes (5-10) to get into the game.

On topic, this was a move for the fans and the company.

Yeah, the matchmaking was shocking, but the game play was much better.
