Impressive! I would keep calm, because it is rumored to be quite pricey. It is amazing the advancement in tech.

edit: the price tag is $999 USD. Maybe they'll make a cheaper version.

It's not a VR headset. It's the Sony HMZ T-3 which is already released and costs $999. It doesn't do VR or head tracking, or anything like that really. It's just a head mounted display with 3D. It'll just display your games, that's about it.
Spore_777  +   743d ago
What I want to know is whether or not there will face-camo in the game that allows you to capture your real face and render it in the game. Too much? Come on, Kojima-san. You can do it! Ganbatte!

I wouldn't get too excited, this isn't a VR headset like occulus rift with head tracking, it's just a portable head-mounted video display.
Whiskeyjacked87  +   743d ago
Wonder if it can be incorporated?

"I wouldn't get too excited, this isn't a VR headset like occulus rift with head tracking, it's just a portable head-mounted video display."

Very true and it's over 3 times what the Oculus Rift claims they will be which is $300 I believe.

Don't worry, it's not 800 bucks. It's a thousand.

@sashimi Omg Omg I can't contain myself. This is much, much larger than that silly hype over M$ acquiring GoW!
Sayai jin  +   742d ago
What does this have to do with Gears? The comparison you are trying to make is just silly. Be excited for this feature, but geeeez.

Kojima has released a very unique arcade game. I was always wondering when they might release something like this.

So is not like Oculus Rift oh well
Cryptcuzz  +   742d ago
Why would Kojima waste his time testing the HMD with this game unless there is something more to it? That's my question and why I'm contemplating that its possible that what's tested could actually be Sony's version of the Oculous Rift.
ovnipc  +   742d ago
He its getting paid by sony to advertise it. So idiots like us gamers see him using that and we want it. Its no vr its just a tv in your eyes.

Does no one bother reading the articles anymore? This is not a VR headset. It's just the Sony HMZ T-3. It's basically just a TV screen strapped to your head. No VR, no positional tracking or anything like that. Just 3D. It's already out and it costs $999.

Guys i Have the Sony HMZ-T3W, I can tell you it is Super fantastic, takes a bit off a toll on your eyes but if you have got your 8 hours worth of sleep then you should be fine.

The view is like you are playing your game(I play skyrim using it usually) on a giant cinema screen. if you have anymore questions regarding the headset i will answer
