4 Reasons The PlayStation Vita Is Sinking Faster Than The Wii U

You know what we haven’t talked about in a while, the PlayStation Vita. People like to hate on Nintendo because it’s the cool new thing to do. With all this news about Nintendo suffering it’s pretty aware that certain gaming journalist loves to beat up on Nintendo and is diametrically opposed to fact checking, one piece of news that is practically not touched upon in the fact that the PlayStation Vita is actually the worst selling console to date (At least in North America). As it stands the WiiU has games, it has variety, but it needs more sales and hopefully Bayonetta 2 and SSB4 will help in that department. So, it has a fighting chance. The same can’t be said for the Vita as 2014 will be another drought for the handheld as its biggest release this year will be another port. Compared to the Vita the WiiU is smooth sailing.

Smh. Another Vita Doom and Gloom.

Mikey322301395d ago

The Vita is FINE.

Yes it wasnt/isnt a huge hit. but give things some time. sheesh.

Muffins12231395d ago (Edited 1395d ago )

Honestly at the moment its been doing better than wiiu since the past 6 months or so...

GribbleGrunger1395d ago (Edited 1395d ago )

Is this perhaps another American article, focusing only on America? The Vita is outselling the WiiU in both Europe and Japan, but not in (you guessed it) America.

Edit. Looks like the author read my post lol

***DISCLAIMER*** THE ENTIRE ARTICLE IS BASED ON THE PLAYSTATION VITA’S PERFORMANCE IN NORTH AMERICA, YOU KNOW THAT PLACE WE LIVE IN, THE PLACE WERE YOU ARE READING THIS, THE PLACE WHERE THIS WAS PUBLISHED. I’M WELL AWARE THAT THE HANDHELD IS DOING MUCH BETTER IN EUROPE AND JAPAN.

If the author reads my follow up edit, try researching a little more too, especially on the subject of 'variety'. This is completely out of touch with reality. Here's the list of games on Wikipedia. It's not completely up to date but when you've finished scrolling to the bottom, I'm sure you'll get the picture.

Totally agree 100% I should write an article and place it on the net called "I'm the only person who has a WiiU so it's dead" This article will be accurate because in the small town I live in nobody else buys WiiU games in my local EB.

"YOU KNOW THAT PLACE WE LIVE IN, THE PLACE WERE YOU ARE READING THIS,"

Sorry, what!? No, I don't live in America and I'm not reading it from there. I don't even care where articles are being published.

What an arrogant guy thinking that the us of a are the World.

I've actually encountered quite a few people here in North America that are either have a Vita and love it, or are interested in getting one. I've only met one person who didn't like his Vita and that may have changed by now. Relatively speaking, it is not the mainstream smash hit that the 3DS is, but that may wind up being a good thing for hardcore gamers. It will and has been picking up steam anyway.
The author likes to talk about people hating on Nintendo, while we've seen possibly just as many or more doom and gloom articles for the Vita. This is made more disturbing by the fact that most people seem to LOVE their Vitas. Why would anyone promote doom and gloom for a system that provides such great experiences for their owners? If we look closely we'll usually find all kinds of logical fallacies and questionable motivations for their nonsense.
Sony had plans for it to go along with the PS4 and their approach has brought us some great unique titles.
I love my Vita and I'm sure that there are millions of gamers already just waiting to pick one up.

There were several articles like this recently. And Nintendo fans claim that the Vita never gets any negative articles.

What the heck is this even talking about...?

"As it stands the WiiU has games, it has variety, but it needs more sales and hopefully Bayonetta 2 and SSB4 will help in that department. So, it has a fighting chance. The same can’t be said for the Vita as 2014 will be another drought for the handheld as its biggest release this year will be another port."

Right off the top of my head, we just got Ys Celceta, we're getting Danganronpa, Toukiden, Monster Monpiece, Deception IV, Conception 2, Disgaea 4 Return, Demon Gaze, Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Freedom Wars, etc.

Not to mention all the titles that have released in Japan that have not yet been localized. They have a ton of games over there.

hellzsupernova1395d ago (Edited 1395d ago )

Yeah ign done a top 30 vita games coming in 2014 video. And they had to leave games off. So it's ridiculous that people think it has no games.

1nsomniac1395d ago

This despite the fact that Vita sales have been on the increase over the last 2 months & there about to rerelease a new cheaper version...... Yea a real educated article!

Team_Litt1395d ago

Wii U sold more than 4 times the amount the Vita did in the month of December according to the NPD. Vita sold 90k in that month. That's just bad.

1nsomniac1395d ago

...Since when was 90k a month bad???

Team_Litt1395d ago

Since December is traditionally a month for stellar sales not sub 100k mediocrity. The Vita's competitor sold 10 times more than that during December.
Context, learn what it means. If 90k per month during the busiest time f year is the best Vita can do then might as well close up shop right now.

MatrixxGT1395d ago

Soo where's the proof that said if we don't sell X amount of vitas in X month then we will just cancel all production and send out "I'm Sorry" emails?

Hicken1395d ago

Oh, man. This guy again. Wii U did well in the US in December; how did it do everywhere else, and how did it compare to the Vita? Pretty sure the Vita was doing better in both Japan and Europe for the majority of that time. And who decides how many is bad for a given month? You? Xbox fanboy and Microsoft apologist extraordinaire?

beakeroo11395d ago

You'd better tell Iwata that he can raise the forecasts on WiiU and 3DS sales then if it done so well. Oh wait...

I have no idea why Sony isn't pushing this device more.
They have no idea how good a product the Vita is. Seriously, it's baffling.

It's a fantastic system that Sony is persistently ignoring, and if Sony ignores it, developers will ignore it too. That means fewer games, then the consumers will ignore it.

C'mon, Sony. Do something with the Vita already.

rhap1395d ago

Come on, can't we filter this kind of useless articles?
