No doubt gamers will be skeptical, however this game looks like it's going in a completely opposite direction to A:CM, and I am perfectly fine with that.

I still want to see more of it first, but I am cautiously optimistic.

I think you said it perfectly. I was so hyped when I first saw ACM at E3 and Randy Pitchford talked it up. A year later we got the full blitz at E3, San Diego Comic Con, and Pax Prime, and then the game came out a few months later with a thud. I am going to be really curious how they market this game as they may want to walk a thin line about making sure the public is aware of the game yet keeping much of it secret so players have to learn along with Amanda.

Yes. Different developer. Big learning experience from Colonial Marines. Sega deserves another shot. By my count, they are 1 for 2 with Alien games. The one on DS is quite good.

CORRECTION, they also did AVP, which was decent. 2 for 3.

AVP 2 was a great game.

Remember the AvP games by monolith productions? Those were a ton of fun however the Alien games published by Sega were real stinkers in my opinion.

AVP 2 was a shining example on how the games should be done. It was Monolith and Sierra and they set the standard with that one. I actually liked Aliens: Online from one of the early online communities in the pre-net days when it was not as widespread and people had to use local boards and services for online access and communities.

I'll be cautious but if the reviews end up being good I'll buy this game.

They need to make sure it is more than simply poking around in the dark, collecting items, and avoiding the Alien. This could get old after a while. Dead Space was smart in the fact that there were others for Isaac to speak with. He did not encounter people often but they were on the radio so it did a great job balancing him being alone while not actually being alone.
