With a couple of months of PS4 gaming under their belts, TGR take a look at just how well the PS4 is holding up so far.
i'm loving it
Ba da ba BA ba!
About as dry as the Sahara desert.
That ends starting now. Tomb raider superior edition is out now at gamestop, rayman legends is out next month along with thief, then in march we've got infamous ss, mgs ground zeroes, then in April we get ff14, possibly driveclub, watch dogs, then in may amazing Spiderman 2, and who knows what else. Lots of great games for the first half of the year to kelp sales strong and momentum high. Sounds more like an oasis to me. Maybe it's the xbox you were thinking of with the desert reference.
Really boring/unoriginal/very forgettable launch title(with good trade in value) with the best games being third party games like AC4 and BF4. With the only truly ps4 exclusive game being resogun which is overpriced for what little content(it's essentially a tech demo for ps4) you get unless you get it for free through PSPLUS. But the bright side is that nearly every third party title on ps4 is superior than the xb1 version so that should continue throughout the gen unless they upgrade the hardware of the xb1 with some secret computing power cloud or some magical spell.
Knack was allright but killzone:shadow fall is pure joy. I love stunning the whole enemy team and killing ALL of them lol.
The graphics are a rainbow and the controller is magic in my hands...
Are u high? Lol
It was a joke lol.
I'm loving my PS4 , Already Beat Killzone SF, Knack, AC4 and been playing BF4 almost everynight , puls I still have all the f2p and psn+ games
Just got the platinum trophy for Battlefield4 on my PS4, Going to play killzone SF next, but im currently hooked on blacklight retribution (Free on PS+). There's still lots of games i need to get on the ps4. Im very satisfied with my PS4.
Blacklight is actually free for everyone. PS+ isn't required for any of the current free to play games. Even for the online play.
Still enjoyable, but we're running dry. Still plenty of stuff to play on my PS3, Vita, and PC. Nothing on my Wii U until Donkey Kong.
I'm guessing there will be articles like this on the 3rd months, 4th months, 5th months, 6th months, and so on?
"What's the PS4 actually like"? It's probably the greatest console ever made to date!!
Great besides having no friggin games! Ps plus is a ripoff for ps4 it has no content!
It will pay for itself as the year goes on. Outlast for starters, Driveclub to come and all those PS3 games and Vita games as well, it's not a rip off. People were quite happy to pay £40 a year for live when the 360 arrived for absolutely sod all. It's just that Sony moved the goal posts and once you give people something better they expect more, it's called never happy no matter what.
resogun and bf4 are delish! excited for driveclub, tomb raider, infamous, witcher...
2 months on and I love it, fast and fluent... I switched on my 360 the other day and get really impatient with how long it took things to work, you really do take the speed for granted at times ha. I have most games out atm and still need to finish half of them, looking forward to Outlast and the new lego game in February. Remote play with Vita is also awesome. Very happy with my purchase:D
Not much to play/buy at the moment but Killzone and the offline bot mode are keeping me occupied. Wish March would hurry up and arrive for Ground Zeros and inFamous.
I agree with the fact that the PS4 can't do all my PS3 can(3dblueray,music,etc.)...I think the PS4 should be all and more the a PS3....
IMO the line-up sucked. I mean, I actually bought COD: Ghosts, after saying MW3 was my last COD. I only bought it because there was nothing to play, and my nephew was the only other person I personally knew that was getting a PS4 around the same time as me and he bought Ghosts from my PS4 using his gamertag. So, I got it so I'd have something to play with him, instead of inviting him to corny games of Blacklight: Retribution, with all the screen tearing and issues that game has. Ghosts is definitely a disappointment, Don't Starve is cool, but it's not a selling point, considering it's an indie game you could already get on Steam. Warframe is a cool game, I played it on PC for a little while, and I downloaded it on PS4, it's also not a system seller though. Knack is whatever, and I'm not big on sports games. BF4 sounds like it's a disaster of bugs, glitches and performance hiccups. Hardly any of the PS4's promised features are here, and it's behind PS3 in some main features like mp3 playback and a media server, which I use on PS3 frequently. The video capturing that saves files to HDD when you press the share button is basically broken, it records vids from like an hour back when you hit the button sometimes, and other times it saves no video. They need some major patching for the OS in general still, just to get the basic current features working properly and smoothly.
Id wait. There's only like five games on the ps store and only a handful of retail games, none worth spending 400 dollars on. In a year or two once games stop being cross gen and it gets exclusives it will be a must have. Righ now def wait. I played AC4 and some KZ and haven't touched it since Nov except to download Don't Starve and play for an hour. Every console launch is the same, new hardware excitement then no games for a year or so. The hardware itself is solid but it lacks features. Its a massive step back from the ps3 function wise. It doesn't have half as many media features and feels bare bones. The OS is boring, cluttered, and only let's you play games, go to the store, and watch apps. There's nothing else available. Little stuff like pausing downloads, organizing the xmb, and i hate that everything you view or download is on the xmb for good (unless I'm missing a way to move stuff). Every demo or video watch adds to my stuff so I have scroll through tons of crap. It also feels extremely cheap and plasticky. Basically its a good system power wise but built with the cheapest parts available. Sony didnt want another 600 dollar system so they skimped on any extras and stuck to the basic functions. It doesn't have any worthwhile games but its a guarantee it will have the best library in a few years. Its OS is snappy but boring and lacking cool features like the Xbox has. It seems Sony really cut out everything unnecessary. Its odd they hyped the unnecessary stuff with the ps3 (only does everything) and now went the opposite. Most the stuff they showed on stage still isn't implemented like passing a controller through.
Boring, no games.
i'm on the fence whether i should buy a PS4 or a second PS3 (bcoz my first PS3 died around 6 months back). i really want to play GT6 and all the Plus games i get free. Vita has been keeping my gaming spirit alive hugely thanks to PS+. considering there are very few games i like on PS4 now, i might pick up PS3.. just for GT6 and Dark Souls (which i haven't finished yet) and many other great PS3 games that's going to come via PS+.
i'll surely buy PS4 but i'm guessing after 6 months when they have more than 5 titles i like.
I'm enjoying mine. :)
All I have to say is I'm either on the 360 or ps4, my x1 is collecting lots of dust.
Better if there was more games! It's pretty dry right now!
For me its been a couple of days lucked out and found one on saturday so far Killzone is a blast for me, and the remote play on the vita is awesome, im currently doownloading dc universe to keep me busy till infamous comes, so far im enjoying it.
