From the article, "The internet is abuzz with talk about the Vita. It’s all because of Sony’s forthcoming announcement on January 30, 2014, which will almost certainly reveal the Vita Slim. Yet, with all this talk about what’s to come, people are ignoring the fact that the current Vita is just as good. "The OLED"

Assumptions. The Slim model for the U.S. may come with the OLED screen, not the LCD version from Japan.

"Size doesn't matter"

It matters to me.

"Prices are right"

Its safe to assume that the Vita Slim will be $199 or cheaper. The price will be right regardless.

"PS Plus"

Are the 20-30 Vita compatible games that I got from Plus going to magically disappear from my library when I get the Vita Slim?

"Grab them while you can"

If you don't have the original Vita by now, which is a good deal at $199, clearly u dnt care if it gets discontinued.

Good luck with that, rarely do they release new versions in other areas with such discrepancies. It's a safe assumption based on trend.

"It matters to me. "

Oh? That's great, you represent the world I assume?

I disagree, most people want the version that looks better - an example of this is the PS4 vs XB1 debate over resolution and frame rates - where the superior version visually is the one everyone recommends.

This article is for people who don't have a Vita, obviously.

Oh? So as soon as the Vita 2000 model dropped people stopped buying the OLED model completely? That's news to me.

/yawn/

While there's nothing wrong with the Slim if that's what you want, your arguments against the OLED model are flawed.

"The OLED"

Having used the LCD model for half an hour or so in Japan I can say that I prefer the OLED quite a bit.

"Size doesn't matter"

It didn't feel much different, slimmer, yes. But it didn't enhance or effect the gameplay side of things at all. In a perfect world I'd prefer that my 1000 model was slimmer (but not at the expense of build quality) and at the end of the day it isn't and it bothers me not.

Just show the public that your platform is getting a steady flow of quality releases, market the platform, and it will sell.

The old one has a superior display and build quality, but I really like this Slim's more ergonomic design along with a smaller back touch panel and and micro USB port. I hope the third redesign has the slim body and charging port, a one piece front panel (not that ugly slim panel that only covers the screen), the build quality of the 1000, oled display, and internal memory options of 32gb and 64gb, that would be my dream vita.

Totally agree. The 2000 is a budget model, it's not a full on 2DS-esque budget model but it doesn't feel as expensive as the 1000.
