Setting aside controversies on numbers and resolution, Tomb Raider is definitely a lovely looking game on every platform, and since the Definitive Edition is hitting the shelves soon, Square Enix released a launch trailer.
I already have this on my PC, and I can run it at maxed out settings 60fps 1080p. Aside from Lara's face lift, I would like to ask you people (cos I really don't know): what am I missing here compared to the PC version?
Same i cant imagine anyone needing this if they havent played it but remember not everyone has a pc so if they missed this game last gen but have a new system i can see why it may appeal Im in your boat, its not a game i would play twice otherwise i may have considered it as theres not much on ps4 atm
Better lighting, particle effects, a few extra textures thown in, and redone character models. Aside from that? Not much.
All textures, physics as well and also all the dlc, some extra outfits, digital version of comic and behind the scenes making of videos. Definitive means more then just graphics, you get everything you could possibly get with the game for the most part.
Here's an idea. Stop giving a damn if you're not going to buy it. *flies away*
If that was the case (not giving a damn), I wouldn't been asking about the differences. chill
Agree Pc version without face lifting that is, but its still amazing game.
For god sake we know that this game look super in your PC ... even my mother she doesnt know about video game also agree that pc is more powerfull than console. why do u still come and post ... pc is winner, pc on the top, pc is better version. Even the developer admit it. Do u think ppl doesnt even know that.
Well when even your mother says that "PC" is more powerful than I guess there is no point in further duscussing that topic. /s
@I_am_Batman, Dorothy Mantooth is a saint and yes, you do wear hockey pants.
An array of new graphical techniques and effects, bells and whistles.
@everyone Thanks for the answers. That was a legit question, guys. I usually don't engage into this kind of debate that tends to end in a fanboy discussion. It wasn't one, actually. It was just to clarify what's the difference because, as a stated in my post, I didn't know. No need to be rude or sarcastic or to assume a defensive position. And I don't read all the articles regarding this matter. Thats why I was questioning the matter.
The reason why you aren't getting a proper answer is that nobody knows for sure yet. They've shown a redesigned Lara, lighting that shines on individual raindrops, better explosions, and textures that are supposed to be 4 times the resolution. I'd wait a couple of days for the digital foundry analysis to be sure though.
Check you tube, multiple videos showcasing the updated features and going somewhat in depth about them.
The only thing you're missing is a fat faced Lara.
she looks worse on ps4 lol, PR overhyped crap
Still the same game , with a bit of gravy.
I never got this on my ps3 and i will be picking this up as i have heard nothing but praises for this
Here's more praise. It's an excellent game & you really should get it : ) Ps. Lara's hair looks great
thanks pre-ordered :)
Has Lara changed nationality for the reboot? She no longer has an English accent. She sounds more American, mid-atlantic at best. Can't help but feel slightly disappointed (I haven't played TR in years, so this may be old news).
That's because the actress who plays her is American as far as I know. Not sure why they didn't hire an English actress, but they hired Angie for the movies, so...
Your ears must be going bad lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... http://gamerportal.hu/@pict... She's extremely hot btw :D
Not at all. I'm English and some of the pronunciation of words she uses simply don't exist in any English regional dialect (which is why I mentioned mid-atlantic). A mid-atlantic accent can occur when an English person spends a lot of time in thé States. They can pick up certain phrases and pronunciation that leave them with an accent that sounds neither one or another. Generally to a British ear they sound a bit American, but to an American ear they sound more British. I happen to have a very keen ear for accents that isn't often fooled. Thanks for the link, it answered my question 100% (she's an LA resident). ;-)
Ok, well I made a mistake. Thanks for showing me.
Those saying it looks better or as good on the PC are wrong. I played through the whole game maxed at 1080p with 2X SSAA using a GTX690 and I can see from the PS4 footage that it looks better in almost every area. I do agree that it's a bit much to charge full price but if you don't think it's worth it go buy something else.
Its a fantastic game whether definitive or not. Played it on pc at launch and had such a blast. Pick it up if you haven't already.
