iGR: "Gamers are beginning to report that they’re receiving texts from GameStop notifying them that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be available for pickup before 1/28."
never, embargo lifts up on january 28.
Just got the same message. Available tomorrow.
Aaaah, Lara's hair.. On the PS4. Uuugg, Laras hair.. On the XBox1. LoL
To the disagree's. I'm actually joking. I'm sure both versions will look great. I have commented on Lara's hair in the past. It's a running joke you know... ; )
They have the same graphic settings, just frame rate differences troll. We don't even know the official frame rate of the Xbox One version yet either
The developer mentioned that the graphical effects are similar which means there are minor differences between the two. P.S its probably an SSAO Vs HSAO thing
You know what's funny? If the game wasn't the same resolution on both platforms there'd be weight to difference in hair complaint. They streams of hair might have jaggies on a lower native resolution. Good thing they're both native 1080p.
Called my gamestop they said tomorrow!
called 3 gamestops in my area all of them said the 28th. You guys must be lucky.
Being released at $60 basically means I don't care when it releases, especially since technically this game released in 2013.
Your not understanding. This game got some of the best reviews out of all games in 2013. My best friend owned it on 360 so obviously he is not buying it on X1. This is for the people who did not get a chance to play it last gen, so we get a better graphical version to experience an awesome game. I never played it so i am stoked to get a chance at it after hearing how much people loved it!
I probably should have included the fact that I played it back in 2013. I loved the game, it really was a great game. But just because they prettied it up doesn't mean its not a year old game now. No new content for the single player really makes it feel stale. MP was very forgetable so the only way I would double dip on this game is if it had something more than graphical polish on the SP side. If you haven't played it...you should really enjoy it but again... still feel it should have been released at $40.
I actually skipped over this game entirely last generation. Had zero interest. But always did feel I missed out on something. Whatever it is, it worked with the new version to garner my interest. 1080p/60fps fits the bill for me to get this on the PS4. I know my PC wouldn't be able to run it at 60fps anyway with TressFX on.
Its a great game. I played it twice but I think I will actually get it again while I'm waiting for Second Son. But I might wait a month since I dont think it will stay full price for long.
people need to stop crying about the price tag. *if* this was a simple face lift, you might have a point... but because you're getting all of the DLC content, plus a higher resolution/frame rate (on the PS4 version, at least), the $60 is worth the price - especially if you never played it on PS3/X360. it's no different than a GOTY edition of a game, and you don't see anyone crying over paying $60 for that.
Agreed. The $60 price tag is well worth it for what they did remaking the game from the ground up for the PS4 hardware not to mention getting all the DLC to boot.
funny you mention the GOTY because its being released the same day (1/28) as the definitive edition but instead of a $60 price tag its releasing @ $29.99 http://www.gamestop.com/ps3...
Damn January 28th 2014 awesome
Ahh mine is January 28th 2015. You're lucky :(
I hope Amazon ships mine early then. If not I'll wait until Tuesday. Awesome it's 60fps on ps4. Can't wait to finally play this!!!
I'm still so busy playing dead rising 3 but I can make some time to play this
Reporting in. [IMG] http://i39.tinypic.com/1o4v...
I pre-ordered the game last month, just called gamestop and they said I should be receiving a shipping email real soon.
Yep, got mine way earlier today, happy as all hell!
