Sony Giving a Free Year of PlayStation Plus With Xperia Z1s Purchase

The followup to last year’s Sony Xperia Z smartphone, the aptly named Xperia Z1s officially launched on US carrier T-Mobile earlier today. With the release, it looks like Sony is leveraging the power of the PlayStation brand by throwing in an added incentive to would be buyers. Folks who purchase the Xperia Z1s between January 13th and February 12th will be eligible to redeem a free year of PlayStation Plus, a $60 value.

Yea, I'm about to get me an xperia z1s next month when I finally be able to change phone.

Xsilver1335d ago

oh hell yeah was planning on making that my next phone anyway.

sinjonezp1335d ago

Definitely a good value if you have sony devices. I own a ps3 psv and ps4 so the amount of free games you get upon getting the year free, plus the entire year pays for itself and the consoles owned. Great move Sony.

I'm waiting for the Z2 which should release within 6 months, already there are rumors about it and it sounds MIGHTY good!

The Xperia Z2 is said to be revealed at MWC 2014, happening on February 24-27. CAN'T WAIT!!

I've been thinking about gettin one for a while now, so this is pretty tempting. It's been nice not having a phone though, I ain't gonna lie. I washed my iPhone in the laundry on accident last year and never looked back. Lmao

I thought PS+ was $50 not $60??

OT:Time to upgrade from S2 :p

admiralvic1335d ago

It is, but a lot of people mistake it for $60. Most likely due to XBL costing that much.

Bathyj1335d ago

Nice. They should give away a year of PSNow with every Bravia TV.

MrPoopyPants1335d ago

PSNow should be $25 dollars a month. Dollar a day isn't to bad for that.

Bathyj1335d ago (Edited 1335d ago )

Are you crazy? Whose going to pay $300 a year?

PSNow should be a very small amount, and even smaller or free if you have Plus.

You still need to actually buy or rent these games. They shouldnt be stinging you a huge fee for the privileged of buying their games.

Remy_S1335d ago

I think a subscription rate of $7.99 would be about right, akin to Netflix.

MrPoopyPants1335d ago

Sorry i meant PS+, PSNow, and Muisic Unlimited should be $25 a month.

kB01335d ago (Edited 1335d ago )

agreed 25$ a month is a ridiculous asking price...I mean people don't even pay 15$ for MMOS anymore...and we pay 8$ for netflix.

I think 5-10$ a month or 70-100$ for year membership seems to be good. That's what? The price of a game a year?

We'll have to wait and see:)

Edit: Saw your last post. Hmm..honestly I think it's a good price but I'd never want to pay that much.

frankly I was hoping that if they would do this:

Without PS+ 10$ a month (or w.e) and with PS+ 5$ a month.

I think that's very fair.

Joey_Leone1335d ago (Edited 1335d ago )

LOL don't be silly. I prefer it to be $10 a year, sounds reasonable.

SkippyPaccino1335d ago (Edited 1335d ago )

I'm hoping for a Great Z2 showing at next months mobile conference...Cant wait for my New cell phone (even though my contract isn't up till November...)

If I had money to burn I would have a new phone every 6 months.

sweet bonus for those who buy in
