Never Forget Your First Game

What do you think of when you hear the saying, “You never forget your first”? Do you think of your first kiss? Chances are you and the other person (or persons if you’re into that sort of thing) had no idea what to do and feared that the braces in your mouths would cause permanent damage. Do you think of your first dance? If you do, you likely think of your parents dropping you off at the school cafeteria where you saw nothing but awkwardness and untouched finger food. Do you think of your first vacation? I doubt it; you were probably too busy screaming and crying, which meant other vacationers had to listen to you as your parents attempted to calm you down with your favorite toy. (Culture, Ephemeral Fantasia, PS2)

My very first games were Beast ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... and Super Mario Bros. Alex Kidd was alot of fun. Sad that SEGA never brought the franchise back but I suppose a lot of platformers from that era sort of died out (Pitfall, Alex Kidd, etc)

I have some memories from when I was 3... though I didn't start playing games until I was 5. Going off-topic now- that makes me question what is the norm for the earliest long term memories?

First game I remember was Space Invaders with my Dad at a bowling alley. We went back to bowling alley to find the game a second time and it had been replaced with Galaxian (WOW! Space Invaders that dive bomb you!!)....

But, the first time I was really blown away by a game was when I saw Donkey Kong at arcade. It was like seeing a cartoon that you could control! I will never forget that feeling.

My first home experience was Pong on a Magnavox Odyssey knockoff from Radio Shack!

I wasted a lot of quarters on space invaders. But my first video game was pong, because there were no other video games to play.

I started when I was three years old and my dad let me choose the game I wanted to play first. I chose Shadow of the Beast 2 (the other one was Eternal Champion). Man I can't wait for the Shadow of the Beast reboot on PS4.

My first console game was Super Mario bros. I played it at my buddy's house when I was 8. Little did I know how quickly it would become an obsession.

the first games I owned and played was monkey hero and brahma force for the PS1 (ah! the golden days). Of course I've played N64 games but those were owned by my siblings.

If I remember correctly, my first computer was an Acorn Electron, where I played awesome games such as Repton, Chuckie Egg and Jet Set Willy. My first console was an Atari 2600 - good ol' Pac-Man, Keystone Capers, Kaboom, River Raid, Frogger, Pitfall, E.T....

I spent almost all of my 6 week summer holiday playing that game!

(before you say why did you sit inside during summer as a kid it is because I live in scotland and here summer means the rain will be a bit warmer!)

One of the Sonic the Hedgehog games on Genesis. I can't remember which one was first, though. I played all of them.

Pretty certain the first thing I played was either Galaga or Pac Man in the arcade. Maybe Pole Position.

I think my first game was either Final Fantasy or Bionic Commando. Could have been Super Mario Bros., not quite sure...

Either way, all three of those games are classics, so I sure was lucky to have 'em lol.

I started gaming at 3 and my first game was Mario Party because it came with my N64 and it was something I found very interesting since it was like a board game you could play alone and still have fun. I also got a gameboy pocket around the same time and just like pretty much every other child at that time I loved me some Pokemon Red/Blue

I'm not completely sure what my first game was. I think it was either Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Game Boy Color or PaRappa the Rapper for the PlayStation.

I think it's a toss up between the Atari, an Amstrad and the sega master system (kiwi adventures and Alex Kidd.
My fondest memory was standing in front of an Arcade, while my jaw dropped at the first look of Mortal Kombat.
I had never seen anything like it, it was brutal.
