How To Get PS4 Gameplay On Your PC Without A Capture Device

Angie Santiago reports: "AustralianGamingMate, a user on YT Talk (a community for YouTubers), found a way to get PS4 gameplay on the PC without the use of a capture device. All it requires is your PS4, the share button, and a PC. When you double tap the share button, the console starts recording. When you press it again, the recording stops." (PS4)

yea I know, you've said that 1,000,000,000,000,000 times already, not that I idagree with you but chill now.

Anyway this is pretty useful article, I usually stream to twitch and then record the twitch and then upload to YouTube, this is easier though

I just use the Facebook uploading it goes to as a standard then hop on my laptop and save the video from facebook using DownloadHelper. Then I just re-upload it to Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

This seems useful though because DownloadHelper sometimes has an issue grabbing the facebok video in HD. FB tries to block you from doing it somehow.

As the author, Angie Santiago, wrote, "Considering the PS4 still has an HDCP block limiting the use of external capture devices, this is the most viable option to getting your gameplay on your PC.", however, if anyone already owns or plans to buy a capture device, buying a HDMI splitter like the "OREI HD-102 1x2 1 Port HDMI Powered Splitter Ver 1.3" for about $20, bypasses HDCP and allows any video on the PS4, PS3, and Xbox One to be captured. Xbox 360 does not have HDCP, so it's not needed for that console. I have this splitter and I capture footage with my Hauppauge PVR Rocket.

The only downside is you'll need an additional outlet and HDMI cable. Just sharing.

So its uploading the video to Facebook and then downloading that video to edit? This is not new and has been covered plenty of times in the past

A bit confused here. Twitch is on PS4. I go to my twitch account via my PC. I don't see why I would need a workaround.

Honestly, What am I missing?

Twitch only streams, doesn't store your video. But in this case basically you copy the saved version from your PS4.

How is this news? Its more common sense.

Or you use DownloadHelper and no need to go to some websites, downside of this is facebook compresses your upload to really low bitrate

I use freemake software
so much better in terms of quality and sound
I just click copy (off of fb),
open freemake, click paste url, choose a format and bam!

Wait people didn't know you could do this? I have been doing this since November. But I have been uploading my vids to a fake facebook page then using http://fbdown.net/ to download the video. Edit it then upload to youtube.
