Back in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System days, Nintendo were at their highest point in terms of providing video game entertainment. At the time, Nintendo were publishing some of the highest quality and exciting games on the market. This was also a time when virtual gambling games were a viable alternative to getting down to a real casino. Therefore, it came at no surprised when Nintendo decided to jump on the bandwagon and publish Vegas Stakes on their 16 bit platform.
You may remember a little while back, when Nintendo Feed took a look back at the much credited Vegas Stakes for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Back in the SNES era, the series gained quite a following, greeting popular demand for a Gameboy portable version. However, Nintendo soon brought the series to a close. Today, we're asking, should Nintendo revive the Vegas Stakes series?
Have you ever played and absolutely adored a game that press and public alike seemed to despise? The USgamer team gives its thoughts on a selection of favorite "underdogs" through the years.
Yeah I totally LOVE SaGa Frontier! I found at that it wasn't popular, but a family friend had lent it to me from his PS1 collection, and the game is absolutely brilliant! It was like a sandbox JRPG with dark undertones in it's plot and some very unique, experimental approaches to the genre.
All the time. The first Monster Hunter (PS2) Resonance of Fate, SaGa Frontier (@Donnieboi, it was hated?!) Tenchu Z, Dark Sector, Dynasty Warriors, Shinobido 2, PSASBR, Resident Evil ORC and 6, they were not great games, but not as bad as everyone made them seem.
That is just by going through my memory and trophy list, not at my actual game collection right now.
Also, I seem to hate alot of games that are adored by millions.
so bad it was good. The cheese on that game made it worth playing and it was quite fun. repetitive but still fun.
Nintendo Life - Nothing says “SNES classic” like a high-stakes trip to a menagerie of Las Vegas casinos. You’re invited to bust open the bank account for a night of potentially irresponsible entertainment as you hop from game to gambling game with your crew of potentially irresponsible friends. Even if a 1993 rendition of Vegas-style wagering doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, you might be surprised to find out just how well Vegas Stakes stands up today. The concept is basic, but the execution is impressive — and little bit charming to boot.
