Lionhead says 'Fable Legends' proves IP doesn't have 'to be single-player'

Fable Legends is setting up to be a game that redefines the brand and one of the most obvious examples of this is how this game will have a strong emphasis on the multiplayer core of the game, versus the series' history of being a single-player title.

Studio head John Needham talked about how he needed to convince the studio that Fable could be more than a single player game and what moment really confirmed the belief that Fable could be more than it has been.

Well we won't know untill it's released but for me personally I preferred it to be a bit of both for both audiences. This is why I would hate to see co-op come to the Elder Scrolls game or Fallout, the single player would loose focus

However I did feel like with all the promises made over the course of the three games they focused way too much on co-op features then those big promises they (or Peter) made before the game came out. I felt if they focused on the main part of the game, an RPG, then you would of saw more of a difference between Fable 2 and Fable 3. At the end of the day they just dumbed it down and made it far too accessible.

If this is strictly online then they should do Fable 4 as a single player only game to take on Elder Scrolls for example

The bottomline is that Fable Legends isn't out yet so it proves nothing. When the game comes out and we can all judge it for ourselves than we can say if something is good or bad. While I love Fable, everything after Fable 1 went steadily downhill, so their statement is way too early to tell. I think a lot of people just want this too be a decent Fable game. People aren't putting Fable Legends in the same hype category as the Witcher 3 or DA3, both of which are believe to be single player games.

Maybe but single player adds more variety to the game!

Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Bit early to say it proves anything, but yes fingers crossed.

Since the first Fable the series has had ideas that would translate wonderfully into an MMORPG, particularly with the development of the character's visual appearance being a result of their activity.

Not sure how much of that Legends is incorporating, but I'm certainly paying attention.

Co-op>>>>>>& gt;>>>>Singe Player.

Can´t recall a single game that it was worse playing co-op than in single. In fact, all the games I played in co-op campaign was much more fun to play :)
