While being different and distinctive will certainly draw attention, it is the gameplay that will keep people playing it. That also happens to be the main issue when it comes to Don’t Starve. The gameplay is certainly fun and immersive, but the one thing that you can always count on with perma-death is frustration. Now the problem with Don’t Starve is this: does the creative gameplay out-muscle the inevitable frustration when you die and lose everything?
