Money had to be the reason this movie didn't happen. If there was one game that should have a movie adaptation, it's the original Bioshock.

Apparently it was the rating it would get. Which would have been 18(R). These types of movies are more risky because you cut out a giant piece of the consumer demographic by having the age restriction.

And the fact that Ken said no to changing it so it wasn't so R rated was probably a good thing. BioShock is a violent, scary game, we wouldn't want it dumbbed down one bit just in the name of success.

Tis a shame though, definitely would have gone to see it. Let's hope something arises in the future.

Too bad. It was one of the best games I've ever played. It was a cinematic experience all in itself. I would have loved to see a cgi movie of bioshock. The resident evil 3d movies are way better than the blockbuster ones with mila in my opinion. Maybe they can do the same with the bioshock license.

I loved the original Bioshock even though I hated the era. More of a modern times and sci fi kind of guy, but darn Bioshok was fantastic.

Unfortunately, I was somewhat dissappointed with Bioshock 2, and so far with Bioshock Infinite as well.

The greatness of the original Bioshock was the surprising story, the world, the creepiness and the awesome game mechanics.

The later games were only able to recapture the game mechanics.

Another video game movie cancelled?! I'm shocked! /s

R rated $200 million budget VS. PG13 $80 million budget. Yeah, they weren't even Close to coming to an agreement.

All well. Another one bites the dust.

Yup, pretty much. I'm surprised the Silent Hill movies keep getting made.
