VideoGamer: "For all their claims of authenticity, military shooters are as true to life as an episode of Fraggle Rock. Call of Duty 4's 'Death From Above' is a chillingly realistic exception."
Decent article/opinion piece "Just like in reality, there's a 'pregnant' pause after the launch one of the heavier missiles" I guessin he means poignant lol For me it has to be some crazy moments in battlefield multiplayer!
No, pregnant pause is a thing, here's the def: A pregnant pause is a pause that builds up suspension in the listener/viewer, for a greater dramatic (especially comic) effect of what follows after the pause. Agree with the rest of ur comment btw ;)
Thanks!! Never heard the term use before, should of typed it into google before writing the comment lol
I used to think COD4 was real. Then I started playing battlefield and I have a feeling it was more like that. COD is too clean cut and arcade like now. It was awesome for the time, but it's time has come and gone and they aren't doing anything to make it more realistic.
It's a game if you don't like it don't play it.
Killzone is better much better
Nah, COD4 was probably the best fps last gen.
Whether that's true or not is irrelevant. The topic is realism and neither CoD nor KZ is particularly realistic, though it's arguable that KZ is slightly more realistic than CoD with the weight of the weapons (even KZ3 had a weightier feel than CoD) and speed of movement.
Killzone is the last game that most sane people would call "realistic".
@Panda - I might be wasting my time responding to that since you can't seem to read, but... Hmmm… let's see what I said… "neither CoD nor KZ is particularly realistic" Well what do ya know? I can think of more unrealistic shooters than either KZ or CoD, so saying KZ is the last game most sane people would call realistic is untrue, but a real gamer would know that.
Awesome mission, CoD4 has some of the best singleplayer missions i've played in any FPS shooter.
Ghillies in the Mist was my favorite.
Operation Flashpoint has more realism in it's demo than the entire Call of Duty series combined.
Yeah realism and CoD don't go together well at all.
cod4, the only cod game worth playing
Call of duty 4 definatelly brought forward a lot of aspects about war that werent generally touched. Like your character dieing, the Ghilli suit mission and everything not being shiny. especially that last point, its like a refreshing cup of water to play cod 4 after all these supernova baby oil simulators we've had.
Damn i can't hate on this article because i liked cod4.
I still think this is the best one
Actually the future will be more like COD. Do you now why. Guns with auto aim are already being created and tested. I'm talking sidearms, small mg's. You will not be able to hide. As for War, Never been in one. But i have spoke to many who have and from the sounds of it, BF games are close with arma etc.
