Joystiq picked up one of Microsoft's Xbox 360 Wireless Headsets and put it through the paces in a video review.
got mine and its the best.
I really liked my Logitech wireless headset for the XBOX, and was planning on getting this. But, about 3 weeks ago, I found a wireless headset, by Turtle Beach electronics, that also has a built-in Live headset. It was $100, but well worth it. Now I can play with the sound pumping directly into my ears, while my wife studies, rather than have to play with the volume way down; it's freaking awesome. The headset itself is wireless, but the Live part still tethers to the controller. For anyone who's interested, here's some links to reviews and look at the headset. http://hardware.teamxbox.co... http://www.techgage.com/art... http://xbox.about.com/od/xb...
I picked up the Motorola football coach headset a couple weeks ago, and I can't imagine anything better. It's comfy, and clear. And only $28. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-...
I think I will get this, I won't feel so dorky wearing one of these, lol
I want one quite badly, but must wait as it's on my xmas list
the day it came out and have NEVER been happier. This thing is LIGHT-YEARS ahead of the one you get with the console. I even have the plantronics X-30 ( http://www.activewin.com/re... ) and this is Soooo much better. Well worth the money and a must for LIVE players. Other thing I REALLY LIKE is if you use your home 5.1 surround system, even though it looks like it covers your ear .... it does not interfear with what you hear from your home theatre. In other words, I wear mine on the right side, my other headsets would kind of block the sound coming into that ear .... this one does a very nice job of blocking VERY LITTLE.
The fact that the headset plugs into the bottom of the controller is sweet. When the price comes down may jump on it.
