Continue Play takes a look at one of the most memorable moments of Phil Fish's infamous game FEZ.
Random Nintendo shares Indie World highlights and impressions of Fez, There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension, and Aerial_Knight's Never Yield. Plus, The Great Ace Attorney, Microsoft's Switch on a shelf, and more.
With its unique visuals, wonderful soundtrack, and addicting gameplay, FEZ is as much fun to play today as it was nine years ago. Jes from Gaming Respawn reviews.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "In short, Fez is as good now as it has always been. The reason I call this version the best way to experience this indie game is mostly due to the perfect combination of the Switch’s portability and its screen being much larger than the Vita’s. This is easily one of the best indies ever made, and one of the most important games of the past decade. Even though a lot of younger players only know it due to its troubled development cycle and some post-launch controversies, Switch owners should definitely pick this game up. This gem took an eternity to arrive on the system, but it feels right at home on it."
Oh man...Fez... An amazing game that seemed simple in premise but opened up to be something much, much more for those that wanted to dive deeper. The only game in recent history that had me dedicated enough to TAKE NOTES IN A NOTEBOOK in an attempt to solve it's ciphers and puzzles without looking things up online. The last game that had me that engrossed was the original Myst game way back in its heyday.
It's a shame that Phil Fish is so arrogant and does not 'play well with others' that he basically forced himself out of the business. Don't get me wrong, I certainly give hardcore props to the man, but he got in his own way after the release.
Unfortunately, I think many people will forget all about Fez in coming years. I will, however, have my notebook and will always look back fondly on it.
Yeah it was such an amazing game.
Without defending the way he reacted, there's no denying that Fish was the target of a pretty concentrated campaign of abuse and unpleasantness.
I hope that someday he decides to return to the industry, because Fez II really deserves to get made :)
