Holiday over.
Next big drop for Wii U is DKCTF.

Sales will be down for a few weeks now.

abzdine1344d ago

i'm afraid you're right, especially the feb 22nd tsunami that is coming up.
Sales of Wii U will jump again end of march when Mario Kart comes out..

but i don't understand why Vita TV doesn't sell more than that given its price and what it's capable of?????

Concertoine1344d ago

If japan isnt exactly buying the vita in spades, then the one chained to the tv that can only play certain games is definitely not going to sell no matter how cheap it is.

I think it's because the software needs patching to work with the PS3 gamepad. You just can't plug N play your library on it yet. Also one of the main selling points of the device, off TV PS4 remote play obviously isn't available till February.

I'll say it again with disagrees, I believe it should've released with a PS4 controller included. Even if that meant another $20 added to the price tag. The trackpad/clicker, the built-in speaker and headset/mic port would all naturally lend themselves to make for easier patching of existing software. Compatibility could roll out more quickly. The Japanese get the early benefit of an extra PS4 controller and day 1 remote play in the house if they buy a PS4.

Vita TV is ahead of its time for Japan.

The market doesn't, 'get' it yet. Maybe it never will.

I have one, and it's great, albeit with the limited Vita game compatibility at this time.

Also, as mentioned, there's no PS4 out in Japan yet to do remote play.

Wow that is a pretty drastic drop from a week ago. It will be interesting to see how much impact DKCTF will have on console sales once it's released.

Concertoine1344d ago

Me too, the last one just passed 6 mil recently not including the 3ds version. It has a lot of nostalgia, im interested to see if it helps.

Didn't realise this until now, but the Japanese flag is actually a pie chart showing the number of Microsoft consoles sold (in blue) compared to the rest (red).

zerocrossing1344d ago

But there's no blue on the flag O.O

360ICE1344d ago (Edited 1344d ago )

Wooo! And once again I've reached six bubbles by joking about Xbox. Now I'll go spend that extra bubble on joking about PlayStation, PC and Nintendo.

Sorry for going off-topic. Don't want to lose the bubble on that. Sales are nice. Love sale charts.

Concertoine1344d ago

Lol i'll give you another +funny for this xD

Geobros1344d ago

This is the end for Wii U in japan?? Only 15k copies? wtf?

LOL_WUT1344d ago

People thought it wouldn't got back down wait till February when the ps4 drops. It's sad to say but the only time I see a significant rise in sales for the WiiU is during the holidays.. ;)

Geobros1344d ago

Its sad for me too to see so low numbers for a Nintendo console. I am a ninty fan to be honest and I would love to see Nintendo to continue to produce home consoles but Wii U looks even worse than gamecube in sales. Its a pity....

Neonridr1343d ago

or when a good game releases.

Neonridr1344d ago

Everything took a huge drop, not just the Wii U. Vita sold less than half of the previous week, 3DS sold just 1/3 of its previous week.

DarkHeroZX1343d ago

That's true. But to fall below the PS3? That's rough.
