Jake at Press Start Australia writes: "Super Motherload is probably the least known launch title of the PS4. It kind of makes sense too. It’s not a bad game by any means, I just don’t think it was suited for the console experience. Short bursts on a portable for someone to kill time on their commute to work/school and this game would have nailed it. But with a lack of PS4 specific features, tedious and repetitious gameplay it is hard to to get excited about sitting down for a session on this game. It's saving grace is perhaps the inventive upgrade shop, incredibly upbeat soundtrack and the way the developers have crafted their interpretation of Mars."
