It's a no-brainer that the PS4 will dominate Japan

raWfodog3744d ago

Hopefully this will also mean a greater willingness to localize games for North America and Europe. I enjoy some good JRPGs.

abzdine3744d ago

i really hope japanese developers wake up soon!
i want PSone all over again

Letthewookiewin3744d ago

Yes I really want a PS4 Tales of Something!

RedDevils3744d ago

I want my JRPG, I hate FPS games none of the game worth $40 let alone $60!

Qrphe3744d ago

I really miss those niche games that would get 5/10 or 6/10 reviews in the PS1/PS2 days that made it overseas that turned out to be 10/10 just because I took the time to understand them.

curtis923744d ago

Maybe they can see glimpses of the PS2 era in the PS4 as well.

pyramidshead3744d ago

Motivate that one that's making The Last Guardian lol.

Insomnia_843744d ago

Seriously, what's up with TLG?? My guess is the moved development to the PS4. I don't know what else to think, they don't give any updates.

pyramidshead3744d ago

My guess is that there's just no dev team on it and it's taking a while to get one for it.

There was an article a few weeks back showing Sony hiring for it for PS3 cell development for it so who knows.

I personally think it's going to be launching 2014-15 early 16.

SaturdayNightBeaver3744d ago

nooo im about to get ps3 , let it be both versions please! lol

joel_c173744d ago

The games dead guys - its time to let it go :(

PS4isKing_823744d ago

PS2 era is back. Now for a flood of awesome games not seen since the ps2 glory days.

xXxSeTTriPxXx3744d ago

This was a bad thing this gen, I mean look what happened to ff because of being "motivated" by the west and many other japense devs.

I hope this means something other then development philosophy.

frostypants3744d ago (Edited 3744d ago )

Japanese devs inspired by western ideas resulted in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls...two of my favorite games of all time.

MegaRay3744d ago

Who dont?
I myself just want from Sony ape escape 4

Sony is forecast to lose billion at the end of this fiscal year so it doesn't surprise me.

Rimeskeem3527d ago

It could also be that working at such high positions for 29 years earned him a lot of money to retire.

700p3527d ago

Maybe he bought a xbox one.

danny8183527d ago

Lol nintendo has more money at this point

dantesparda3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

You dont care about facts eh? Just whatever you believe. Fact Sony has a 19 billion, Nintendo 16 billion. Yeah, Nintendo has more money.

And Tbone, is all you do is troll? Why are you so obsessed with Sony?

SoapShoes3527d ago

Bunch of Xbox fanboys clamoring over this I see. How anyone can agree with you is beyond me.

MegaRay3527d ago

Dont wanna your last bubble, hah kido?

Vurczi3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

It was already stated that he is retiring. So, it has nothing to do with sony losing money.

That too bad. Good luck with whatever you do next Mr Kawano.

NewMonday3528d ago

he has to take responsibility for the troubles of PS4 in Japan.

TitanUp3528d ago

other than handhelds, console sales have been down in sales for a long time in Japan. a boost here and there but nothing like it used to be.

Not exactly this guys fault that the ps4 isn't selling well in Japan.

MrSwankSinatra3528d ago (Edited 3528d ago )

What does him retiring have to do with the troubles of the PS4? The guy has been working for Sony since 1985, so that's 29 years employed at one company. Maybe the guy wanted to just retire already. Not everything is a conspiracy dude.

NewMonday3528d ago

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has been the weakest link for years, on his watch the PlayStation brand declined heavily he should have pushed with strong ideas but they were too few and too week.

DonDon3528d ago

Could Yoshida take the position?

Chaos_Raiden3528d ago

Hope he have a good retirement.

Torque_CS_Lewith3528d ago

Thank you for the service sir, enjoy a life of leisure and gardening and your new boss; Mrs Kawano!

HappyWithOneBubble3528d ago

Now get out there and get that booty Mr. Kawano
