Alien: Isolation - Why you need to stop worrying about Colonial Marines right now

GamesRadar - I published my big reveal preview of Alien: Isolation early last week. Isolation, I can categorically state, having gone hands-on with it, currently looks like an excellent game. In fact it has the potential to be one of this year’s best. From what I’ve seen and played so far, it appears to be stunningly realised project, being created by a dedicated and very talented team who really get what makes Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror masterpiece work. It’s also utterly terrifying and, thanks to its uniquely systemic game-design built around an ultra-sophisticated, purely AI-driven Alien, utterly unlike any other survival-horror game out there.

Sorry GamesRadar, but no gamer is going to give a turd about speculation on an Aliens game again unless the goods are actually delivered. To many gamers and journalists got taken advantage of on the last game from the fake bullshots to the fake demo Randy P at Gearbox trouted out there and marketed. It's fraud and their going to court over it.

Now if the game comes out and actually delivers then people will be interested but until then don't try to hype a new Aliens game, we have already been deceived before, they actually have to deliver before there is any kind of foundation to hype an Aliens game again.

I saw this gameplay hands-on on IGN this morning and I was both impressed but anxious at the same time. On one hand it has immersive graphics and spectacular lighting IMO, the gameplay seems to have a good grounding to it but... here's the big 'BUT'. Tons of choregraphed and scripted FPS-view cutscenes where the playable characters hands flap around in front of the screen, moves her head according to animation and no control whatsoever.

It's gonna be a mixed bag of great gameplay snippets and redundant, immersion-breaking blockbuster BS, because there were already shimmers of that in the demo.

I'm not over the fence until I hear some good reviews once it's out.

Not a single gram of hype shall be given to this game as far as I'm concerned. Until I see professional reviews

I think what may help the length of the game is that there are 3 other humans that are part of the crew that landed on the space station.

Also the alien is not the only threat as I understand there are other survivors on the space station.

It has my interest for sure. But I understand why people are wondering how can you make this into a full game. We shall see.

It already looks better then CM. There looking to go for the theme of the first ALIEN. ONE alien can be almost more scary then a horde of them equipped with guns.

In CM I was NEVER scared. I rented the game (thank god lol!!)
