Knack can get good review. Maybe i should try it ? is it wort money ?

inside_thebox923d ago

Definitely, it was my first personal platinum on the PS4! I played it for hours and hours above the other launch titles :)

Yup def worth getting if you like platformers like ratchet and spyro, i have loved every second of it.

Don't you EVER compare Knack to those games. It feels like a Crash-Bandicoot sorta game but it's awfully monotonous and dragged out, boring and just poorly designed from a game-design standpoint.

To anyone who hasn't played it yet. You DON'T have to, in fact, avoid it at all costs. I'm dead serious.

I liked it too can be frustrating sometimes but overall it's worth picking a used copy on the cheap!

I got it for $40 at launch with the buy 2 get 1 free. I liked the overall game, but you can tell it's not a $60 title. Things like invisible walls (places you should clearly be able to reach but can't) and poor story and characters keep it from being a great and memorable game.

I don't know what your budget is, but I couldn't recommend paying over $40 for the game. Especially now that the 2nd wave of games is about to hit. Knack should be $30 before too long, and possibly on PS+ eventually, so unless you really need something to play right now, maybe you should wait a bit.

Knack is far better than any antsy reviewer has given it credit for.

It's fairly uninspired but is fun, offers a good challenge, has some really nice well-designed environments and a pretty good story. Perhaps it would be better priced at $40, like guitarded77 said.

Even Mark Cerny called it a "second purchase" so maybe wait for it to drop in price.

Definitely agree, many reviewers have given it a far lower score than it deserves. That being said, a $40 price point would have been a better option. However, if it was at that price, I probably would have bumped it to a 9-9.2 out of 10. I enjoyed it so much and I think my score was pretty fair :)

I got Knack on eBay for £23 and I like it. It's a fun game and one I will play again after I've completed it.

I love it.
Sure, it's simple but it's great fun.

Thanks everyone for commenting. I think the general consensus is that this game is faring much better with gamers than most reviewers have said. As I said in my review, I found it to be terrific fun, so, I gave it a good score. I think its been put down a lot more than it deserved and I think Cerny did a great job for a launch title. I did three playthroughs in one weekend to get the platinum, one on normal (for diamonds), one on hard (trophy) and the final on very hard (trophy and platinum). I've enjoyed it so much and I've spent over 100 hours on it. Its definitely one of the launch titles that's been ignored by far too many people; it is a brilliant platformer. Sure, look what Nintendo can do with Mario; they get 9-10/10 each time with only adding a few new elements. Knack is, in my opinion, as good as Mario, but, for some reason, it has been rated quite badly.
