Why Gamers Shouldn’t Be Worried About Titanfall’s Launch

While Titanfall has the possibility to be huge, some gamers are worried about the title’s launch. This game is being published by EA, a company that has had two of its biggest titles of 2013 hampered by unstable servers. The games in question being Sim City and of course, the recently launched Battlefield 4.

While EA’s recent problems are a valid cause for concern, I think things may not be as bad as some fear.

The only thing that bothers me is that EA, as a publisher, has adopted the practice of releasing broken products. DICE even asserted this themselves. Just test your product thoroughly. They do developers and gamers a disservice by rushing releases.

Its because if you dont like titanfall there will be other games to play. If something isnt your cup of tea then make lemonade

EA are just publisher, they dont own the studio and hence dont decide the release date.

Exactly, Respawn is not like DICE where they are owned solely by EA. EA are just publishers, besides Microsoft is delivering on the other end for multiplayers, which is it's main core gameplay.

Then can someone please explain why DICE (BF4 Developer) actual said that the timetable was decied by "higher ups". I don't care if EA owns DICE or not. If the developer need more time to release a product it shouldn't matter.

But here is the real question: if there are problems like with BF4 and Sims, who gets blamed? EA or Respawn? Microsoft perhaps? I am willing to bet that EA will be held responsible by the general public based on their other published disasters.

DICE is wholly owned by EA so EA calls all the shots. All the same if anyone thinks that the publisher of a game has no say in when it releases, regardless of the developer, they really need to get the blood flow to their brain checked out.

iamnsuperman1559d ago

Well that isn't entirely true. As a publisher they are the money and marketing machine. So they decide the release date as they are putting the money in. However, I think one of the deals for Respawn coming over to EA was to allow Respawn to have more control (since what happened with Activision). Respawn is a unique case since publishers actually do decide the release date (regardless if they own them or not)

its a new IP which is not competing against any other shooter at release unlike BF4, Titanfall will also be running off Microsofts cloud servers not EA's, Titanfall will be better than COD in everyway, yet i dont see so called gamers calling out COD about player counts even though they remained the same for 10 years, maybe its because Titanfall is not releasing on Playstation so alot of insecure gamers are spreading FUD lol

CELLA1559d ago

We should give Titanfall and the team behind it the benefit of the doubt when it comes to how stable it will play online.
this game is going to be good some people like the game that i no there are some good maps to play in like Lagoon

dazzrazz1559d ago

You should be worried as fawk ! EA servers..... get it ?

Pinkdolphinyfg1559d ago

Not worried at all. Will be there day one on the xbox one. If you dont like it for whatever reason then dont buy it simple. For some reason people on n4g feel the need to be so vocal about how they have NO intention of buying Titanfall. Lol

blackout1559d ago

Only on n4g. The Microsoft hate on this site is crazy.
