Rocksmith 60 Day Challenge — Is it as good on bass?

TechRaptor - Ubisoft is claiming that Rocksmith is the fastest and easiest way to learn how to play the guitar. Their commercials proudly proclaim that numerous people have gained basic to advanced skills in a mere 60 days by playing Rocksmith for one hour a day. Their website even claims that existing players benefit, citing Toluna Consumer Survey as saying “95% of Players Improved At Guitar”. They also claim that “Over 1 million people have played Rocksmith and improved their guitar skills”. (PS3, Rocksmith 2014 Edition, Xbox 360)

I have it and it is awesome!! I'm learning Weezer - Say it ain't so, right now. It works really well by slowly adding in notes as you learn more. Very Fun way to learn guitar.

Well I have zero guitar expeience. Since getting the game i can play the intro and most of the chorus to Say It Ain't so w/out the game. There are chord games and technique games so I say with enough time it should be able to help you "Play the guitar"

Been using it to play bass and I love it, Ihave noticed myself getting better, love playing Muse on it. Gonna have to dive more into Rush as well.

I just bought this game and plan on doing both of the 60 day challenges. I would think the bass would be a little bit easier.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments and reading John's article. My question to someone who already knows the guitar: Will it help your technique and understanding of music theory? I (Jason) have played the guitar off and on for 15 years now. I learned songs the old fashioned way by listening to it over and over and reading tabs. I'd love to learn theory and be able to put thing together on the fly. Does Rocksmith do that in any way?

Jason
