Forza Motorsport 5 January IGN Car Pack Revealed

IGN - Turn 10 and IGN have again teamed up to unveil a new batch of post-release Forza DLC: the Forza Motorsport 5 IGN Car Pack. The IGN Car Pack, the first bundle of rides available since the initial pack arrived on launch, will feature 10 cars including brand new models like the 2013 Caterham Superlight R500 and 2013 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG making their series debut. They'll be joined by some updated favourites like the 1977 Ford Escort RS1800 and 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409. (Forza Motorsport 5, Xbox One)

These cars should be already in the game or free. The game needs more tacks also. After reading most of IGN comments it looks like even Forza fans are done with Turn 10 and I don't blame them. It's a half ass game for $60 and a even more for DLC.

I think your wrong.from reading the comments its obvious most of those dissing the game are silly fanboys dissing ms and xbx one too. Most are happy with the game its doing pretty solid at retail too. dlcs arent new to the franchise its been there. My brother and his friends are big forza fans and theyve been having a blast with the game.

The price of the dlcs have been reduced and even though the tracks and cars may be fewer than last its still a great game.Dan Greenwalt apologised to fans for the mistakes made with forza5 at launch and i believe they will sort all of it out in the sequel.

I remember when to unlock stuff in a game, you had to played, beat it and beat it again on harder modes.

Today you have to pay for that.

I disagree with the half assed comment. Yes compared to Forza 4 it has less tracks and cars but the one big selling point and for me what makes the game is drivertar. I have never enjoyed a racing game offline so much. Unlike other racing games f1, GT etc drivertar steps the game from getting predictable and keeps it challenging no matter if your racing in the slow or fast cars. For me this is the foundation for Forza 6 which I think could be the best racing game on the market unless others use drivertar style Ai.

Are people still complaining almost 2 months later? Get over it already. We all know there should have been more cars, but there isn't. Either buy it or dont. I personally never buy the car packs because 1/2 the cars are either pieces of crap or race cars. Sorry but I have no desire to drive a 1981 BMW or a Lambo race car. I buy the cars individually if I buy any.

$49.99 for the entire car pack DLC... to go with the FULL RETAIL game. Unreal. Not acceptable for ANY game.
bobsmith  +   98d ago
And theres a 50 dollar pack for all the track packs lmao
edit oh ya and there will be several more car packs after all all the car packs that are in the season pass

so 60 for the game, 50 for the car pass 50 for the track pass, and like 5 more car packs after the season pass is another 50, and if therse a porshe pack thats another 20

True, and then half of the DLC will be missing in Forza 6 and be put as DLC again

So in between writing game reviews, IGN promotes their own product packages for the same games its supposed to give unbiased reviews on. Um... why should they be trusted? How do we know whose interests the reviews are meant to serve?
MadSientist89  +   98d ago
lame car selection if you ask me.. more than half of those cars were probably in older forza games

$50 for the pack does seem like an awful lot of money. I'm new to XBO and literally just got Forza for the first time. Can you unlock these by simply racing enough for credits?
bobsmith  +   98d ago
no and after you buy the car pack if you cant afford the cars in the pack you can buy credits to buy them LOL

Let's set the record straight

Forza 5 = 200 all new cars...no cut and paste old cars or tracks

GT6 = 123 all new cars over 1000 cut and paste cars and tracks
bobsmith  +   98d ago
forza 5 only has 200 cars total only like 10% of them are new
only has like 4 new tracks, took out like 10 old tracks and a lot of the old cars and tracks are being brough tback as dlc

gran turismo 6 has like 10 new tracks free track dlc and car dlc every month

10% are new to Forza 5, but all of the models are new. They aren't carried over from Forza 4, which is what Axios2 is saying. Most of the cars in Gran Turismo 6 are still the standard models from Gran Turismo 4, a PS2 game.

I'm almost Driver level 50 in Forza 5, I don't have any real complaints. Track selection could be improved, but cars and tracks are one of those things I just refuse to pay for DLC wise.

50 bucks is excessive.

Only 2 to 3 cars are worthy on that pack.

Am I the only one that thinks it's sketchy for video game "journalists" to be so far in bed with any one company?
OrangePowerz  +   98d ago
No not the only one. I think it's a very bad idea for a "neutral" gaming magazine or website to be strongly featured in a game as that might give them a reason to want a particularly game sell well.
OrangePowerz  +   98d ago
IGN car pack? That's very dodgy.
Master-H  +   98d ago
Gimme the loot , gimme the loot
SmokeyMcBear  +   98d ago
wait a second.. its $50 for just his car pack, not all future car packs like a car pack season pass?!? Also you don't get the cars immediately, they just unlock and you have to use your in game currency to buy them? is this real life?
DigitalRaptor  +   98d ago
What horrible, horrible value.

And a gaming media sponsored DLC pack? What universe is this?
