Gamer Mondays: Growing Backlog of Games

"Every year I accumulate a bunch of games to play and ultimately never get around to playing them. This creates a substantial backlog of titles just sitting on my shelf, either still in the tightly wrapped plastic or games that I played for an hour or two and just never had the chance to get back in to." - David Wales (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

And hence my new year's reasolution: DON'T BUY ANY MORE GAMES... at least until I start playing through the ones I bought last year. The stack of unplayed games is tremendous. I have games from previous generation consoles I still need to get to. It's a tough job but these games won't play themselves.

Well said, I gotta do the same just picked a bunch of games on sale and came home to realize there's still a ton I already have that I have beat yet.

This is one of the reasons why i rent. As soon as im finished with a game i just send it back. My backlog is usually 1 game lol

My backlog is so huge that I've begun to look at my games and decide that I will NEVER play certain titles.

I've been pounding out game after game often gravitating towards the more linear and shorter games so I can knock off a larger quantity.

Since October I've played through:

Lost Odyssey
Halo 3(yes I still hadn't played the recent halo games)
Call of duty 4(see above)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Bioshock Infinite
Remember Me
Resistance 3
GTA V
Zones of the Enders HD
Deathspank
Vanquish
Syndicate
Portal 2
3D Dot game heroes
Batman Arkham City

Playing Far Cry 3 currently..... holy crap that's a lot of games.

That's what happens when you move to a new city and can't find work right away. Play video games!

I have some from last years Steam Winter sale that I still haven't played yet, and if I would have waited until this year's sale that just ended to buy them, I would have got them for even cheaper.

Mine is so out of hand I quit gaming about 7 months ago. I absolutely hit the wall, can't even bring myself to play The Last of Us even though I know it's a great game. I hope the bug comes back but for the mean time I have 75+ unplayed/unfinished games boxed up in the cupboard.

I have so many games that I need to finish that I doubt if I'll be buying a PS4 anytime soon. Not to mention the fact that there will be plenty of new releases for the PS3 in the future that I'm looking forward to. I guess I should get busy before my backlog gets even bigger.
