Four Video Game Franchises that Need a Reboot

The simple notion of rebooting a video game franchise is enough to incite heated debate between fans. Some feel as though reimagining a franchise is unfair to the series as a whole, while others feel that a breath of fresh air can only be a positive for those series’ that have fallen out of the limelight.

Regardless of either side of the argument’s stance, there is no denying that rebooting popular franchises is getting more popular than ever. In the last few years, classic video game franchises have gotten a modern day makeover. Tomb Raider, Castlevania and Devil May Cry all saw recent reboots that were met with critical and commercial success – establishing the franchise reboot as a lasting and worthwhile endeavor. (Culture, Resident Evil, Suikoden, TimeSplitters, Tomba!)
