Xbox One Pre-Orders Begin Via An Online Retailer In India, Priced At Rs 55,000

Sony’s contender is also up for sale through the same retailer, but for a highly reduced price of Rs 39,990. It has been sold out and is likely to be shipped to customers starting from January 6. As for the Xbox One, it has not appeared on any other shopping portal and we are yet to hear an official statement from Microsoft, confirming its availability for India. (Xbox One)

why do indians want a ps4 more than an xbox one? this is why http://www.indianexpress.co...

For those who don't know, Amitabh Bachchan is a major Bollywood star (sholay, kabhi khusi kabhie gham, amar akbar anthony, baghban, was also in the 2013 version of the great gatsby, and also presents the indian version of who wants to be a millionaire). Some people in India literally consider him as a 'God'. if there is one piece of publicity that will sell ps4's in india this is it. shah rukh khan (another famous Bollywood star) also has a ps4.

Indias Population: 1.23 billion people.

Granted not all of them are rich enough to buy a PS4 but there is a possibility that Sony could sell a fair amount of consoles there.

Even though it might sound comical for some what you wrote, in countries like India where stars have that status among adults (rather than mostly young audience like in other countries) advertising with those stars or being referred by them it really makes a difference.

SONY will sell well in relation to what it can sell there, like everywhere the PS4 has been launched

You can't just simply convert a nation's currency into another one and use that as a base.

Correct, no one would ever travel to Australia if that was the case lol
