The 4 Worst Video Game-Related Decisions of 2013

The Illusive Man says: "2013 has been a banner year for gaming. We’ve been graced with so many great AAA tiles like The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite, and great Indie titles like Gone Home and The Stanley Parable. Then, on top of the games, the newest generation of video game consoles were released, and no matter which side of the fence you sit on, you have to admit it feels good to have both of them out. However, there’s been plenty of missteps along the way." (Dev, Industry)

Awards shows set the game industry back? Really? How? Most folks I work with cannot stand these award shows and we do not associate with them. Those shows are for the gamers, not the industry. We have our own methods of recognition and awards and they are far better than that circus.

Don't confuse Hollywood, the media and journalists with the talented people that create. They don't swim in the same waters they just play on the shoreline.

Rebranding Final Fantasy Versus XIII as Final Fantasy XV. They have fractured the fanbase more than any other, and it's going to hurt.

That was smart of them to do the rebranding, considering the feedback from sales & opinion. I saw that change a mile away, and figured XV's cast looked strong enough to stand alone in their own series. What heck was versus anyway a fighting game, it just screamed made up cool title.
