Skylanders SWAP Force vs Disney Infinity Revisited

Initially it was too close to call. But now Family Friendly Gaming is finally willing to declare one franchise better than the other one. This call may shock you. (Culture, Disney Infinity, PS3, PS4, Skylanders: Swap Force, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

It kind of depends on how much one wants to spend money wise as the basic Infinite games is light on content and the expansion packs aren't cheap.

You make a very good point. The additional playsets are expensive. We have called for a lower price - 20 bucks; or a one figure and one playset package.

We finished Skylanders SWAP Force - had no interest in purchasing additional characters. Used Giants, and first gen Skylanders in SWAP Force. The extra content (type based) is mainly mini games. So did not even purchase all the SWAP Force types.

To be fair Disney Interactive has released many maps for free. So its a free download for additional content. Activision has released nothing free.

There is no doubt that Disney designed gave away some free things, but the game is also very modular in it's desugn that would allow that. Skylanders everything is there from the get go besides of some minigames and special areas. Might be a bit apples and oranges the comparison despite of their similarities :)

Disney infinity needs to have a single player expansion with every type of series released.

The Toy Box is amazing but we like story as well, playing in the movie or show is great fun.

I think that would change the whole aspect.

Agreed. Disney Infinity is flexible enough to add content like that. Not seeing it in Swap Force. Don't get me wrong, I love SWAP Force. It is just dead in terms of replay to me now.

Swap Force is awesome, but my son has played swap force the least of all.

I love the toys, I think they look amazing but the quality has declined in terms of detail, just take a look at the series one vs series three, more parts are the same color with less detail. They are producing the toys to quickly to give it the attention it needs.

It was also sad that we could not use our level packs after being told that everything would continue to work after the first game, that is a huge let down.

I hope if & when Disney Infinity two comes out it majorly improves, not just minor things.
