Killzone Shadow Fall Review: A Prelude of Great Things To Come - Game Insider

Ultimately, Killzone Shadow Fall is a great shooter. Guerrilla Games has managed to deliver the most sought after and recognizable next-generation console exclusive as we close out 2013. With a powerful soundtrack impressively moving the story along, undeniable visuals and sophisticated gunplay, shooter fans who own the PS4 cannot pass on Killzone Shadow Fall.

The campaign is a drastic change from prior games in the series and in some cases for the better, leaving some questions unanswered while desiring some gameplay influences of the past.

At the moment you will be hard pressed to find any other multiplayer shooter on market with as much tactical gratification and aggression along with customizable gameplay options as Killzone Shadow Fall, and it only continues to get better. (Killzone: Shadow Fall, PS4) 8.8/10

I believe he's saying the score fits the game, considering what it does for the PS4 and what it offers, out of the box, for a launch title.

If such, I agree. Quite an underrated (Meta) experience.

Nice review.

I can see why it was given the score but think it is a little high (imho). Not far off but ocassional weak points would keep it in 8-8.5 range for me at best (the joys of personal taste/opinion). There are parts that I think deserve higher but others not near as much which weigh it down some. If it was consistently as good as its best moments would probably be a 9+ though rather easily.

I think its a great new direction even if I kind of miss some of 2/3s particulars/characters. A sequel would be welcome I think although not sure exactly how it would play out either. It actually leaves the franchise more open to a continuation with 4 or something between the two (originals and SF).

I see myself playing it now and again but multiplayer's spawn camping wears at me at times so may give Xmas owners bit of time to break themselves in before I jump back on board. Also, I am looking forward to coop dlc later on ;) K:SF looks to be a solid start and might just get better with age.

Agreed. I'd give the game an 8.5 I loved the single player, I'm not much of an FPS gamer and even less so online but one month later and I'm still playing and loving the multiplayer. GG need to improve on story telling and fluidity along with better script writing and I have no doubt that their next game will be golden and should bring them the recognition that they rightly deserve

I'm still playing the SP campaign (near the end) & I'm finding it really good. I've Read some reviews previously regarding some issues within the campaign, the patch update seems to have resolved all issues.
I'm actually enjoying the SP as much as KZ2 which is my fav in the franchise. ; D

People take the spawn camping thing a bit far. And honestly it is only an issue if nobody can be arsed doing anything about it.I've been on both ends of this, and have never been in a position where it has become unbareable. Each spawn point has at least 3-4 exits. All someone needs to do is pick an exit that isn't manned, (or less so than the main exit)and they should be able to get in a strong enough position to stick a beacon down. If done early enough it can offen result in a decent turn around as the attacking team will have a beacon or two down themselves and mainly be focused on the spawn so you can put a handy flank in.
