The Best Boss Battles of 2013

IGN - "Gamers beat up a lot of things in 2013, didn't we? We got into airborne gunfights with freakish beyond-human monstrosities, tore apart bars while going toe-to-toe with creatures from classic fairy tales, and sunk massive battleships all in the name of becoming the most feared pirate in the Caribbean." (3DS, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Culture, PC, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Rogue Legacy, Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Wow... o.O

That awkward moment when you realize you didn't play any of those game LOLOL

Actually I did play Batman but sold it after the Deathstroke fight. At least I got the best out of it ...

metal gear rising last boss was more pain in the ass and frustrating than fun, it felt cheap

the last ship battle in Bishock infinite along with that ghost fight was frustrating than fun

ni nu kuni no doubt had great bosses

i couldn't force myself to play through batman origins like i did with arkham city. The best batman game IMO still is the first game. It was more focused and more fun. They did give us an open world but after a while it felt more like a hassle travelling throughout it than fun

Agree with what you said about Ni no Kuni, and Bioshock Infinite

I agree with you about Bioshock Infinite. That final boss fight was no fun. It was just a bunch of crap thrown at you to pad out the ending. I wish we'd gotten a cool boss battle with the Song Bird or something like that.

Glad to see MGR:R get some lovin'. Also the Grendel fight in Wolf Among Us caught me off guard with how good it was.

The final boss at Zelda ALBW was amazing, at hero mode was epic!! For me, Nintendo had to have Hero Mode as an option from the beginning of the game, I enjoyed it more....

Puppeteer had lots of fun, tiered boss battles as well. Was always doing something a bit different with the simple mechanics. Would've stood out more as a next gen launch title IMO. So much better than Knack.

Dragons Crown had some simple but effective throwback boss battles as well. Not a lot of cute tiny bunnies out there that can insta-kill every character on screen at the same time, heh.

For sheer spectacle, I still replay the first boss battle vs the hecatonchires in God of War Ascension every so often. One of those that you gotta show friends when they come over
