I think this is normal. If a Wii U owner does not buy SM3DW or Monster Hunter or Pikmin, what he could buy else?

The Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost Worlds, Rayman Legends, Super Luigi U, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Games, Wii Fit U and Pokemon Rumble U (this is a stretch). These are just the top of my head and people should just drop the "Wii U has no games" trope. It has a few games that are without a doubt interesting and worth playing.

Fire Emblem Awakening was a really pleasant surprise for me. I knew it was on it's way then kind of forgot about it until about 2 weeks before release.

At that point I got really excited for it, bought it day 1, one of the last copies at Target, and played it for 55 hours over the course the the next week.

* It was better than I expected in a lot of ways it was littered with quality through out.

I got Fire Emblem about a week and a half ago for 15 bucks and it's so good I wish I had paid more. I've played most of the FE games and this one by far is the best, the relationship aspect and the interactions with the characters are top notch and gameplay is smoother than all the other iterations. I'll be picking up the next entry at launch if it's even half as good as Awakening!

SMT4, Fire Emblem Awakening, A Link Between Worlds, Wind Waker HD, Mario 3d World, Pikmin 3, Rune Factory 4, and Etrian Odyssey Millinial Girl for me. Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Wonderful 101, and Luigis Mansion for honorable mentions.

Really amazing year for Nintendo all around. Even the WiiU had more amazing titles like Splinter Cell, COD, AC4 and others. Next year will be better though if that's even possible.

Fire Emblem Awakening is my portable game of the year. Zelda ALBW and Animal Crossing New Leaf a close second. My fav Wii U game of the year is (contoversially) Splintercell Blacklist. Though im loving the vastly under-rated Wonderful 101.
