I'd be excited if Sega's name wasn't affiliated with this title...Now it could spell doom for a film license bred to be gaming fodder.

valkyria of the battlefield looks hot. the initial d extreme stage PS3 game should rule too. These are both SEGA games. I think Sega is going to surprise people this year. This Aliens game will be killer as far as horror FPS games go. I bet it's a lot cooler than the EA horror game Dead Space

Defectiv3_Detectiv33491d ago

I thought it was strictly an import. Last I heard its not coming to the states.

Hope... this one will be a peak...

I mean, you cannot mess with ALIENS...

...can't kill the alien franchise. That award falls to Jean-Pierre Jeunet for Alien Resurrection and Paul W.S. Anderson for the totally dire AVP sequels. I can't believe Anderson is given the green light on anything - the guy is a f**king celluloid rapist.

Alien 3 only just scraps through as long as you are watching the director's cut.

I could have written this article from memory on what FEW details have been released.

Sega made some decent alien arcade shooters. But yeah, I don't think Dead space will hold a candle to this game. I don't like the idea of being an engineer with modified tools for weaponry. That sucks...

I like pulse rifling aliens and getting scared $hitless!

Denzelio3491d ago

Yeah you tell em nothing beats Aliens, Pulse Rifles, Smartguns & the best of them all HUDSON!!.

that 'engineer with tools' sounds a bit like Half Life, poor guy had a wrench as a primary weapon. would have been better of using foul language against the bad guys.

LinuxGuru3490d ago (Edited 3490d ago )

I'm afraid you're mistaken, as Gordon Freeman never used a wrench.

The Freeman uses a crowbar.

The only horror game in recent memory to have you using a wrench would have to be...hmm....can't remember....I know that in Doom 3, you whacked people with a flashlight, LoL...

Was it Prey that had a wrench?

God, I can't remember now....I'm drawing a serious blank here...

I have all these Doom engine games in my head...Prey, Quake IV, Doom III BUT WHICH ONE HAS THE WRENCH????

Gah, this is gonna be bugging me all night now.

I GOT IT

*BIOSHOCK* is the game where you start with a friggin' wrench! I remembered! Yay!

Not really a Doom engine game, but Unreal Engine / Doom Engine kinda look the same, texture-wise.

I hope SEGA gets it right on this, it could be such an awesome title but SEGA as of late has not had that great of a track record. My fingers will be crossed...

Sega has sucked ass for too long. I loved my megadrive and the games they made back then, but they have failed to bring sonic into 3d properly, they have failed to bring back any of there ageing series into next gen since PS1 and Saturn days.

The only game they still make well is Virtua Tennis, but by not making the PS3 version online, they lost my sale.

The only saving grace for this game is the fact the actual developers are Gearbox.

Well according to Wiki, Gearbox has done the following:

"Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, Halo: Combat Evolved for PC, and the Half-Life expansion packs Opposing Force and Blue Shift."

So hopefully we don't need to worry about this being anything less than fantastic. I have high hopes pinned on this, I really hope Gearbox delivers.
