Dengeki Magazine released the results of their poll titled: "Which Video Game Do You Want To Have A Remake?". And unsurprisingly, Final Fantasy VII tops the charts.
Out of the 439 respondents, 78.1% indicated that there is a console game in their minds that they want a remake.

...there are so many classics I've never played yet, and which story- and gameplay-wise would still hold up to today's standards, or at least provide a lot of entertainment... yet graphically they need a HD upgrade.
Not just old 2d games like Superfrog, Street Fighter Alpha, Turrican etc, but also the Saturn, Dreamcast, Xbox and PS1/PS2 classics many of us will have missed out on first time round.
Think HD Beyond Good and Evil, think HD Metal gear Solid, Think HD God of War, etc etc.
I'm all for it. It would also be a nice way for big companies to get their young new staff a chance to proof themselfs by updating old classics, and thus learning from the experience.
Just like with revisiting old classic movies, it's often fun to go back and play some classic games, which are still alot of fun.

There's really no next-gen space fighters out yet (don't know what Lucas Arts is waiting for) so maybe an awesome looking, first person interior cocpit (I know how to spell it, but it won't let me type it) type space invaders remake.
