VGU Awards: Best Game That Challenged Expectations

2013 certainly set the bar for our expectations in games, but who really broke the mould? (BioShock: Infinite, Gone Home, Papers, Please, PC, PS3, Saints Row 4, The Stanley Parable, Xbox 360)

I really have to go with BioShock Infinite on this one as it really did well on what it was out to achieve. With the way they showed the subtle tones of that era and propaganda well without blindly pointing negatives just showing how it was/is.

The game on an emotional level between the player and characters is brilliant. For me personally this was one of my favourite games of 2013.

It proved naughty dog can make a new IP not only that was great but passed all expectations especially on a aged console

3 of these 5 games are only on PC, truly the platform for indie and unique games
